3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLokelani inter is not a safe school at all. I went here and there was a lot of smoking, vaping, drugs and alcohol usage. I remember seeing many students vape and get away with it, I believe this is a reflection on the lack of care for the students. One time, this one student got very drunk in the bathroom and had to be assisted, what kind of school lets these horrific things happen to MIDDLE SCHOOLERS mind you. Lokelani had a high amount of unqualified immigrant teachers who told us to search up answers. There is a reason why lokelani is so infamous, bullying is also a big problem. I believe students so young shouldn’t face this and don’t get me started on racism. Racism in this school was so common to a point slurs don’t even matter or how the school lacks basic history education. Lokelani has some actually good qualified teachers but most of them have no idea what to do. I had a science teacher that was ignorant and she wasn’t even qualified to teach science, she’s a math teacher. Honestly, the lack of teachers is really bad in this school and substitutes mostly dread teaching here. The budget for this school is very low, most of the money goes to STEM which is great but other classes and extra curricular activities could use some money for example, the band. Lokelani has one of the worst or maybe the worst music program on the island, instruments are crippling, lack of interest and lack of care. Lokelani’s band program was at its worst 2 years ago where students would come in and wreak havoc just because we had a “chill” sub. The band room is also in critical condition where instruments aren’t being cared for properly and old equipment. I once had a cockroach crawl out of my instrument. Parents, I recommend you send your child to any other school. Lokelani intermediate is not a safe school or a good one for the most part since it has old outdated equipment, nasty classrooms and horrible teachers.Other Review8mo ago10 Reviews - Anuenue School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a parent whose child attended Kamali‘i Elementary from kindergarten all the way through fifth grade, I can wholeheartedly say it’s the best school on the island. Our experience over these years has been nothing short of wonderful. From the very first day, the staff and teachers have shown incredible dedication and warmth. They foster not just academic growth, but also a sense of community and kindness that has made a real difference in our child’s life.If you’re looking for a place where your child will be both challenged and supported, I couldn’t recommend Kamali‘i Elementary more highly. It’s truly a gem in our community.Parent Review5mo ago18 Reviews - Ke Kula O Ehunuikaimalino

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageVery bad school it may be new but the principal is terrible at her job she doesn’t respond to phone calls and emails from concerned parents. Security is very bad at protecting kids for their safety. Teachers are giving hard times to students and also limit to other achieving students. The grading system is not great. the phone policy isn’t great either why should our kids be forced to give their phones to the teachers and put them in the cabinets and be locked? WE PARENTS BUY PHONES FOR OUR KIDS SAFETY NOT TO BE LOCKED AWAY. kids are vaping on campus and the teachers doesn’t even care about it.Other Review4mo ago1 Reviews - Check out schools near 4355 E Waiola Loop #38.

"Very safe neighborhood and feel comfortable walking at night. Also neighbors are very friendly and cars don’t seem to drive fast in our neighborhood. I would love to buy in this neighborhood if it wasn’t so expensive. People take care of their yards and share their fruit from their trees too! There is a dog park nearby too. "

"Safe and great neighborhood to raise families. Neighbors are all nice and stay to themselves mostly but always feel like we can go to them for help or sugar if needed. Would like to plan a block party with the neighbors! "

"Keep your doors locked. We’ve had several thefts over the last few years. Fishing gear from backyard, a car from our driveway, and tools out of a truck. Too many homeless nearby"

"Have money to pay expensive day care with no quality for the price. Big waiting list to pay a lot ... there is no much choices off course. Aloha spirit and all will be good . Maui is expensive in general off course. "

"Kihei is a beautiful town on Maui’s South Shore but the lower access road does flood during storms but overall is a great town and the further south u go the more expensive homes and condos get as u near the Wailea and Makena areas "

"Kihei has what I would call a very large transient population of young people settling for short periods, retirees settling for their golden years, many recurring visitors, and of course the locals. This creates a diverse cultural community "

"My community is strong and people take care of each other. I’ve lived in the same city my entire life. Someday I will retire and leave, though. I’m really starting to dislike winter. "
