As an above-average student, I wouldn’t say it’s bad but it can definitely be better. Most of the teachers are nice even if they pick favorites which is honestly pretty rare. They usually get hated on as soon as they call someone out. This doesn’t necessarily mean that the teachers are bad, it just means that the students aren’t really great here. The bathrooms NEED help. And I feel like the punishing system is kind of corrupted. They say that they’re preparing us for life outside, but they teach us things we will rarely use and not things that we will use. One thing I need to point out about the corrupted system is how, if you get beat until you’re bleeding, if you lay one finger on the other person, you are now immediately the problem and also gonna get a longer suspension for some reason. They really like the rich kids here too, and if you’re kind of dumb and misbehaved, just know that you’re not probably gonna get defended by the school. Even if you’re a smart student that doesn’t always mean that you’re gonna be recommended. They tell us to work on our leadership skills, but I feel like they’re lacking at themselves. The subs don’t really know how to control classrooms when there’s no teacher.If I had a dime every time I got made fun of in the school, I could go to college and not have a student loan. But a lot of the teachers here are gems. It kind of ruins your mental health here, just saying. I wish the school was a little more mature with the students and had a better way of discipline. A lot of things are rigged here for students that have teachers as parents or students who are better off than others. Smart kids usually get benefits and kids that misbehave can be blamed for pretty much anything. Also they use their budget on re-painting the school??Teachers are really overreactive sometimes, like it could be just as simple as writing something on a sheet of paper while a teacher’s talking and getting screamed at. But a lot of the teachers are really nice and that’s what I really appreciate. A nice teacher can go a long way. If you’re thinking about enrolling your kid into the school, it’s much harder for new kids to fit in here. Also, the sexism in the school is SO HORRIBLE both ways. Of course some new kids can have friends and get along with people just fine. But if you joined late, then you obviously have a disadvantage, I wish they would change a lot of things about the school, but it’s way better than most people are saying it is.

The GLP actually stands for "great little place". It truly is a wonderful school. Both of my boys have gone here, and I have always felt welcomed. I have substitute taught and volunteered, and have nothing but great things to report. I am sad to say this is our last year at the GLP; my little guy moves up to 3rd grade at the Elementary school next year. I will greatly miss it!
