I am proud alumni. Thanks to the great teachers/staff I was able to continue school.. Graduated from Venice hs/ UCLA and now currently attending (Harvard) law school. :) special thanks to Mr.Davis, Mr. Rocha, Mr. Torres, Mr. Green, Mr. Avalos and all the teachers that help me out a lot. I thank John Adams MS! ;)

My twins both graduated from Jefferson high school, they both earned honors and a high GPA. My kids passed their History and Calculus AP exams, and they both received academic scholarships to help them pay for college. My kids enrolled in four year universities CSLA, UCLA. They are both pursuing a bachelors degree. They also were part of extra curriculum activities from SRLA, and avid program. They received Letterman jackets from the school. They had a wonderful experience. I also graduated from Jefferson and am very proud. Best school in South Central

I have nothing but praise to give about Dolores Huerta. I have a 4th grader and a 1st grader who attend this school. And I couldn't be happier. The quality of learning they have been receiving has been excellent. The teachers are caring and committed to their students. The principal and the rest of the staff are helpful and friendly. I find them to be professional yet approachable. As a parent I appreciate that aspect, as I feel comfortable communicating with them. Should I have any questions or concerns I know they will be glad to assist me in any way they can. The school is kept clean and safety is always first.I find Dolores Huerta elementary school to be a wonderful learning atmosphere, and I am proud to say my children attend this school.

I taught here and the environment inside and outside of school made me feel as though I didn't know how to do my job. Who's to blame? Give teachers the option to transfer to a school that doesn't stress you out as much as Maya, for the same pay, and you'll see why there's a revolving door / high turnover rate. Especially since teacher income is based on student performance. Teachers at the school will be effective if their students were starting the education race from the same starting line as those schools in better areas. Trust me, I've flourished before and after working at that school. I don't blame the teachers at all since students are lawless there.
