2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was a substitute teacher at Griffith Elementary School and I found the front office staff and teachers to be extremely unwelcoming. The front office staff was so disrespectful that they called me while I was teaching to apologize. It was an insincere and curt apology so I assume someone overheard the way she spoke to me and she was forced to apologize. However, the most alarming thing was to see the teachers and lunch monitors argue with each other in front of students. Teachers also appeared to have little patience with students (1st and 2nd graders) and were quick to yell instructions and make passive aggressive remarks. "There are a few hiking spots close by, there is a nice running trail that runs alongside the canal and Camelback Rd. Southwest Human Development makes its home here supporting early childhood for much of Maricopa County. There’s no shortage of businesses around here. This area borders the more well to do Arcadia and Biltmore neighborhoods as well as the more decidedly homeless and drugee scene that runs South of Thomas Rd. It’s a typical Phoenix neighborhood otherwise."

"Dogs are everywhere and most people are good dog owners. Every once in a while, someone will have their dog off leash that is not well-trained enough. But it’s rare. Also, at times there are coyotes about. Most of the time they run. Away from people, but I imagine owners with small dogs might feel a bit nervous to see one. "
