Communication between teachers and parents is very poor, and it often feels like important information is not shared until the last minute. The classrooms are overcrowded, and students don’t seem to get the individual attention they need. The building and facilities are outdated, and maintenance issues go unfixed for weeks. 7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur experience at Lunsford MS has been excellent. My son came here on special permission after having a very difficult 6th grade year at his assigned school. We did not know about "special permission" or we would have applied sooner. The teachers are all very organized and go above and beyond to help all students to be successful in their learning. The main office is always helpful if I have needed anything and are friendly and smile when you come in. I have 3 children that are or have been in LCPS and this is not always the case. From the moment you walk in, you feel a sense of happiness in the school. I also substitute teach here and it truly is a great place to be! The principals, deans, and counselors all work together to make this school the best place to learn and have fun! The custodians are also very friendly and keep hand sanitizer filled in the classrooms and the school clean and sanitized at the end of the week. My son is extremely happy here and I only wish the Freedom HS was not looking to be at capacity again. Now, he may have to be confronted by the bullies that he left from.Parent Review1y ago
