4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI had two daughters attend Forest park (4 yrs apart so we had 10 years of experience with the school. Most of the staff were very passionate and caring. This school has a very diverse student population and we were so pleased with our kids starting their learning here we kept them enrolled even after we moved out of the district. Yes a few issues popped up over the years but they were handled well and it was nothing outside what you’d expect from an elementary school. The newly renovated playground is a bonus for the kids but space is tight at the school because it’s 100yrs old. The pick up and drop off clog the neighborhood so be prepared for that. But overall all it’s a great school and I would recommend it to any parents who value not just the book learning but a whole educational environment that produces great little humans.Parent Review1y ago8 Reviews - Lakeside Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is HORRIBLE! The attendance person was suppose to come do a "home visit" for my daughters absences and he leaves the note on my mailbox instead of even knocking on the door or ringing my doorbell! I called about it and asked why he didn't do what he was suppose to do and couldn't even answer my question! When my daughter would bring her doctors notes and turn them into the homeroom teacher the teacher said (Go turn it into this person they will bring it to the office) She did that and guess what NONE of her doctors notes made it to the office!!! I needed to check her out one day because of a drs appointment (they won't allow buses to get her or bring her home even though I requested it) and they called in the classroom and the teacher didn't answer, then they called again, the teacher didn't answer. Then one last time he finally answered. I asked my daughter what happened why did it take so long she said "He was in the middle of teaching and said he didn't have time to answer his phone, or didn't want too" WHICH IS THINK IS TERRIBLE! What if it was an emergency?! I always pick up my daughter around the same time, and they aren't suppose to bring kids inside from carpool until 2:45, I am there 2:38/2:39 AT THE LATEST, they are already in the front. I call to complain and they even said they are not suppose to do that. Told the assistant principal and said he was going to talk to them about it and guess what nothing gets done. They are still doing it! Also when it was back to school night my daughters locker was stuck and needed to be fixed, told the assistant principal and he wrote down her name etc when the first day of school came still wasn't fixed. Told her homeroom teacher and its 5 months in she gave up its just going to stay broken! I just called today because I was confused how the tardys work because I checked her out at 130 and like 2 last week I didn't think It would be considered tardy so the lady in the office who answered was rude and said "Well if you're at a job and you leave 20 mins early do you think you'd get paid for that?" Like literally, i'm just calling to find out how it works. This school is just awful. They don't care about the students, they only worry about themselves, or the money! I will be looking into getting her into home school, just because of how bad it is! Get it together..Parent Review7mo ago5 Reviews - North Side High School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageEnrolling my child at NSHS has been one of the best decisions I've made for their education. From the moment we stepped onto the campus, we were greeted warmly by the staff who exemplify professionalism and dedication. The facilities are modern and well-maintained, providing a safe and inspiring environment for learning. What truly sets NSHS apart is its exceptional faculty. Each teacher goes above and beyond to nurture a love for learning in every student. They tailor their approach to meet the individual needs of each child, fostering both academic growth and personal development. The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to challenge students while also encouraging creativity and critical thinking. My child has thrived academically, and I've seen a noticeable improvement in their confidence and problem-solving skills since attending NSHS. Beyond academics, NSHS offers a rich array of extracurricular activities that cater to diverse interests. Whether it's sports, arts, or community service, there's something for everyone to explore and excel in. These activities not only complement the academic program but also teach valuable life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and resilience.Communication between the school and parents is excellent. I always feel informed about my child's progress and any upcoming events. The school community is tight-knit and supportive, fostering a sense of belonging among students and families alike.Overall, I couldn't be happier with our experience at NSHS. It's more than just a school; it's a place where children are encouraged to dream big, work hard, and become the best versions of themselves. I highly recommend NSHS to any parent looking for a nurturing and enriching educational environment.Parent Review1y ago6 Reviews - Check out schools near 425 E Wayne St #25.
