I am a 7th grade student my expirience with this school has been awful to say the least, the punishment system is weak, disorganized and teachers and admin abuse their power. I remember one time a student was being talked about inappropriately and tried to bring it to the social worker and all they did was take the student's computer away and did nothing else to stop him. when you pull of the mask of "successes" of this school, you get a harmful learning environment that makes students miserable to even set foot in this "school" environment. another time I got suspended because i was "guilty by association", all this school does is cover up their problem with their "amazing" test scores and get drunk on power whenever they want to. the teachers write you up or give you silent lunch for the littlest things, even at the end of the school year they enforce harsher punishments for things as little as talking in the hallway. all of these staff need to realize that they can't just abuse their power and hand out papers expecting us to learn something.

We based where we wanted to live on the high school for our son and daughter. We moved here from Washington during COVID. The middle school and high schools were extremely easy to deal with, in getting the transfers completed. My kids love JBHS! The superior educational opportunities for AP and college-level classes were extremely important. The teachers and administration are great. You won’t be disappointed.

as a former student, the AIG teacher i had during 5th grade of 2023-2024 was amazing, but my science and social studies teacher at the same year was bad. she obviously had favorites, and when you did something wrong she would be extremely passive aggressive. i remember getting yelled at and having to sit out during recess because i asked another student to clean up her discarded chip bags she left in the desk next to me. the science/social studies teacher told me that "i wasnt her mother", as if picking up after yourself isnt a basic requirement in the school. In 3rd-4th grade, i got harassed by some girls/former friends both in person and online, i would get added to group chats to get insulted and would have rumors spread around about me. This left me with lifelong insecurities and conflicts. teachers during 4th-5th grade would say the bullying "wasnt their problem/not school related." My kindergarten and 3rd-grade teachers were very engaging and made me feel excited to learn. The music/pe/art teachers and the AIG teacher were accepting and made every class fun, they engaged with students and challenged them. overall, many of the core teachers in the elder grades were horrible, i underwent heavy stress during those times and vividly remember having horrible mental health because of bullying and school life.
