About this House

Welcome to Greenwood Square! This wonderful little community is located off Greenwood Road, just down from the elementary school. 418 Anvil is one of the larger homes on this quiet street. The well maintained house was built in 1965 and the systems have been updated. The front of the house has a nice sitting porch from which to say hello to one"s neighbors. The front door invites people into an entry hall area, with built in sitting bench and double closet. Most of the first floor is an open living room, dining room and kitchen space, with red oak hardwood floors. The custom kitchen has stunning maple cabinets, a central cooking island with walnut butcher block counter and a double oven for easy cooking ? a Baker"s Dream! Stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and ceramic tile back splash. The rear first floor family room has a wood burning fireplace and sliding glass doors onto a sun porch. Upstairs there are 4 bedrooms and 2 full baths. There is plenty of space for a small family, home office or guest arrangements. The basement is unfinished and has an outside entrance. There are two washer/dryer hookups, sump pump and water treatment systems. The HVAC has 3 zones and a hot water winter/summer hook-up. 200 amp electric panel with generator hook-up. The heated pool and back patio were added in 2012 - a make a nice quiet little backyard oasis! The yard itself has been contoured so that water drains away from the house. Small shed for storing yard tools or hobby center. Oversized 4-car garage (30" x 50") has 10" high garage doors, 100 amp electric panel and poured concrete floor. Could readily serve as home workshop. Located very near to Longwood Gardens on Route 1, which is a national treasure! Easy commutes to Wilmington and Philadelphia, while also close enough to readily enjoy Kennett Square. Be it a Friday Night Art Stroll, 3rd Thursday dinner on State Street or listening to music Wednesday nights in Anson B. Nixon Park, there"s lots to do in the summer. Great local restaurants, a couple of local breweries and a new beer garden. And don"t forget to go the Kennett Flash to listen to some original singer/songwriters. Rated one of the Best Small Towns in America!

"Not a lot of space to run in the borough due to the limited housing options although there are dog parks "
  • Maul23e
"There are no sidewalks to walk on in the township. It is a very nice place to live though. The neighborhoods are safe. However, there is a good amount of wealth in this community and many of the people feel like they are entitled or better than other people due to their wealth."
