DO NOT SEND YOUR KID HERE. The teachers are HORRIBLE. Students practically walk around with weapons. One of the school resource officers forgot to do his job. The students here are violent! There are so many drugs. HARD drugs. It reeks of weed every morning. Dr Miller does not do her job. The counselors don’t do their jobs and NEGLECT children who have mental issues. They are not real counselors. If you are rich with extremely athletic and academically gifted children then send them here. The only other good thing here is the special ed department. They are wonderful.

This school doesn’t care about you or your students, the principals are the worst people you will ever meet, their rules make no sense whatsoever and the teachers are not even better, half of them don’t even know what they are doing and all they do is ruin your mental health. Please if you have a kid do NOT put them in this school if you want to make your kids life a living hell

Washington is a special place. In a town where we have seen neighborhood schools turned into super-sized schools, Washington remains the smallest (approx. 300 students) school in the district. It is common to see students walk to school, walk to downtown field trip events, and walk to after school activities at Wilson Park. Washington enjoys the support and resources of its active parent base, the University of Arkansas, and the Downtown district. The students are racially and economically diverse, and the school focuses on compassion, leadership, and conflict resolution as tools to navigate diversity.
