6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAfter reading the previous post about the STEM teacher, I felt compelled to post. My child has been attending PS11 since kindergarten and I have always been very pleased with my child's teachers and the school. However, this year my child has a third grade teacher who demeans children on a daily basis. She screams constantly. I have spoken to the teacher (numerous times) and administration and the problem continues. Administration did nothing. My child cries most mornings and complains of a stomachache. After speaking to others, the teacher has been like this for years. I am at my breaking point and hopefully by taking the matter higher it will be resolved. I don’t know what else to do.Parent Review3mo ago18 Reviews - William Cullen Bryant High School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageUnless you are certain you want to study liberal arts and pursue an IB certificate, please do not waste your time at this school. I currently have a 4.0 gpa in a STEM major in college but going to this high school had me so overworked and stressed that I considered dropping out for a while. The teachers there have no love for what they do. They pride themselves on having a rigorous program but in reality it is just empty, meaningless essays and readings on end meant to “train you for college.” Only the humanities subjects were adequate. For math, there weren’t enough students who wanted to take this higher-levelled course, so they got rid of it completey. The “calculus-integrated” course they ended up teaching does not even scrape the surface of calculus 1, it is just stats. They also only let every other grade choose between IB art and IB computer science, meaning you would have to take IB art because of the lack of teachers for the latter subject if you were in a certain year. Nothing was fair. None of the courses here helped me prepare for college. In my college major, I was behind my peers who had already completed AP calculus two by the time they entered. If anything I developed a hatred towards writing essays and learning, both of which I enjoyed prior to this school.Other Review1y ago14 Reviews - Check out schools near 4136 51st St #E2.

"I am not a member of the community here, but the best thing to know, that this is a very very quiet place to live. Even though the train is next to you, and the firefighters place are behind you, it is so quiet because most people living here are grownups not young kids."

"I've lived in Sunnyside for 18 years. It has the best NYC has to offer. A quick ride to Manhattan, but all you need is in the 'hood. Great restaurants, bars, & services. The one downside is lack of green space, but there are a few parks and the huge old-growth trees in Sunnyside Gardens make up for it. There's a lovely green market every Saturday as well as regular community events. Overall it's great, diverse community; quintessentially Queens! "

"I love living in Sunnyside! I moved here in the 90's (in my 20's) because it was affordable, but I never thought I would still be living here in 2020 and raising a family here. It is an amazing community with beautiful tree-lined streets in Sunnyside Gardens, farmers market, wonderful parks, restaurants... You get the best of suburban living and urban living combined."
