We moved to Oakley a couple of years ago. My son entered Middle School. He’s constantly bullied. He has experienced vandalism of his property, verbal abuse, physical abuse, and low self-esteem/depression. He has reported all of the incidents to the principal. Nothing has changed. When his backpack is broken and torn up by the bullies, the principal just buys him a new backpack. When he tells the principal that kids sometimes come to take his lunch and eat it, the principal does nothing. There has been no stop to the bullying. The teachers are told about the bullying but the consequences of the bullying are not strict at all or enforced. My son sees physical fights at the school all the time.The children should be more educated about what bullying is and to report it. The staff doesn’t take it seriously and they don’t watch out for it. I don’t feel that he is safe. I don’t know what the elementary school in Oakley is like, but they must not teach the kids there about how bullying is wrong. Because of that, it could possibly be why there are so many bullies in the Middle School.The education is horrible. My son is bored in class because he already knows what they’re teaching. He had a good school before coming to Oakley. I feel that the teachers are holding the kids back from what they should be learning.
