This school is AMAZING! It is a Leader in Me Lighthouse School which is a coveted award for Leader in Me schools. This normally takes a school at least five years to earn - and this school earned this status in only three years and received recertification just this past year. They believe in student leadership and building up students to be leaders in the community. Students take an active role in clubs, morning meeting, and leadership projects. The principal is phenomenal and helps everyone in the school both staff and students to have have a culture where everyone wants to come every day. Academics are top-notch and teachers give their all to their wonderful students. The staff, faculty, and students make this school top-notch - and the parents and community gives their support in so many amazing ways. I love this school!

SMS is honestly one of the best schools in the county. Everyone is very kind and will help you out with anything. The teachers really make sure that you understand the subject and don't fall behind.

Our youngest son takes honors courses at Sycamore High and he is enrolled in upcoming dual enrollment courses. He has enjoyed his academic courses, all except one teacher and he no longer has to take a class with that instructor. He has been actively involved in Student Council and athletics and truly enjoys them. The principal has been very friendly, supportive and approachable, along with teachers, counselors, coaches, office staff and cafeteria staff. Parents are welcomed and encouraged to be actively involved in their children’s education and extracurricular activities. The surrounding community has been a wonderful place to bring up our family with opportunities to be involved in churches, sports and various community activities. We have loved living in this area and the education it has afforded our children and grandchildren.
