Wonderful environment/school, kind staff and students. Everyone is very welcoming and I understanding.

This school is horrible. The hallways are disgusting and so are the bathrooms. Half of the water fountains don’t work. The majority of the teachers are white! Plus the students never learn about consent, or the LGBTQIA+ community. They don’t learn black or gay history and do absolutely nothing for pride month. Some kids don’t feel safe in this school bc of the other students. One person was asked to prom (as a joke) and they felt really uncomfortable. This is not okay. Also that pride shirt that the school made isn’t doing anything. They should have had the gas make it. Gay people don’t want rainbows on everything.

It's an "ok" school. Teachers are good, but the curriculum and mindset of the school extremely hindering. To be clear, I don't blame the teachers for that. They're doing the best they can with what they are mandated to teach and how. As an example, they just started teaching spelling in 5th grade. When asked for additional information in the past, we were met with "that's just what we do here." When asked about struggles in the classroom, we were assured our child was "doing fine" despite their tests and report cards saying otherwise. After struggling to have the school arrange for additional support and failure to have the child study team brought in, we quickly pivoted and had our child independently evaluated, and obtained additional support outside of the school. The principal is more concerned about not ruffling feathers and keeping the kids from handling adverse situations when the school needs to clearly admit that there are a lot of red flags, and focus on their own school's test ratings which are the lowest in our town at an abysmal 40%.
