7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur family’s experience with Northwood Elementary over the past three years has been very challenging, largely due to terrible leadership and administration. My daughter, who has a disability, began kindergarten at Northwood in 2021 and immediately faced suspensions and disciplinary actions related to her disability-related behaviors. Instead of receiving supportive, individualized care, she was often isolated, physically restrained, and frequently left the campus without supervision.Despite repeated efforts to collaborate with school staff and leadership, we encountered a lack of transparency, accountability, and meaningful support. Communication was often dismissive, and concerns about my daughter’s safety and well-being were not adequately addressed. Unfortunately, false reports were made against my daughter and me, causing additional emotional distress and negatively impacting our family’s reputation. There was also substantiated harassment and bullying that my daughter experienced, which the school only acted upon after persistent advocacy. This contributed to a learning environment where she often did not feel safe or supported.I share this review in the hope that Northwood Elementary and the district address these serious leadership and administrative issues and work to create a more inclusive, trauma-informed, and supportive environment for all students—especially those with disabilities. Families deserve a school that listens, respects, and advocates for their children’s unique needs.Parent Review11mo ago14 Reviews - Puyallup High School

"Can be up to an hour and a half to get to Seattle during rush hour if driving. Quick drive to light rail in Federal Way or Sounder in Puyallup."

"I live in a gated community but when I moved here it was like a race track. It has become better but now they are building next door. We will be moving."

"It is an older area but houses and areas are improving and looking better all the time. Most people care immensely about how their yards look and are friendly and happy people. Not a lot of sidewalks except on main streets but still many parks etc."

"Everyone I have met is a dog lover. Dogs love room to roam! We have six and a half acres, and many of our neighbors have 5 acres or more... lots of room to roam is a good thing. "

"I have lived here for 6 months now. It’s nice and quiet. Clean and well kept. It is conveniently located to grocery store, fast food restaurants. It’s also only 5 minutes to a few major highways."

"Downtown commute, busy but easy to navigate through. It does not have immediate public transportation options, but is only a couple miles from the stop. Fairly quiet neighborhood and plenty of diversity."
