7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOver the past several years, this school has definitely been moving in the wrong direction. Education of students, support of teachers, and improvement of the overall learning environment, have all taken a backseat to the pursuit of athletic achievement and the most current educational excellence theme of the year. Grades and class completion are subject to manipulation by administrators in order to artificially inflate graduation success.Teachers are passive, demoralized, and uninspired. Classroom management is nonexistent. Teachers teach from their desk and spend their time buried in their laptops. Students are frequently off task or asleep or on their phones. The school does not enforce the South Carolina Department of education’s cell phone, and personal electronic device policy.Administration is unresponsive and seems interested in only making the symptoms of problems go away rather than solving the problems themselves. Communication is terrible. There is zero transparency in the decision-making process. All decisions are made at the top, there is no distribution of authority, and teachers are not empowered to make decisions. Vandalism, disrespect and student fights are a regular occurrence on campus. Discipline is terrible. As a teacher, I would never recommend a parent send their child to this school.Teacher Review1y ago17 Reviews - Bridgewater Academy Charter

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a Myrtle Beach Native I do not recommend this school to anyone! My son went here for a few months and it was not well put together. It was low budgeted and you can tell they struggled all around. While my son attended this school it consisted of a robbery which I later found out it was an inside job. The janitor at the time Royce Franklin and the principal Pinto seem to have more than a work relationship going on. The janitor seem to hold many jobs such as security, the afterschool teacher, and an assistant principal! I say that jokingly he stated this after having a meeting about him taking a child unattended to his private office after school hours without proper supervision, to give the child candy after school hours which I found concernin. I brought these things up to the principal and even higher up to the school board. I felt like the principal did not care about my concerns as a parent and a paying one she sided with her employee. I have recordings and emails as proof. I will neverrrrrr recommend this school to anyone. I strongly encourage other parents to thoroughly research and ask detailed questions before making a decision. Please take it from someone whose born and raised here!Parent Review3w ago8 Reviews - Ocean Bay Middle School

"Lovely residential golf community conveniently located to shopping, schools, parks and sightseeing. Homes are located on sizable lots in a park like setting. Most homes back to the golf course."

"Families in the Clear Pond Subdivision in Myryle Beach SC 29579 are attentive to their children. Many walk and stay with their younger kids when the school bus picks them for classes. The kids are well behaved as well."

"The commute to and from work is a little hectic during tourist season but still okay. What takes 12 minutes in the off season takes about 20 during the on season. I just plan accordingly."

"Dude, my neighborhood is awesome! It’s got everything—cool spots to hang out, friendly people, and a vibe that just feels like home. You can find great food, parks to chill, and even some hidden gems if you know where to look. And the best part? The traffic isn’t too bad! Sure, it gets a little busy sometimes, but nothing crazy. You can get around pretty easily, whether you’re driving, biking, or just walking. It’s the kind of place where you actually enjoy being outside. Honestly, I wouldn’t trade it for anywhere else!"

"We have lived here either all our lives or in and off all our lives. It has changed a lot in the last 30+ years. It’s definitely way more developed and there really isn’t an off season any more. This neighborhood is in the center of Myrtle with quick and easy access to multiple roadways and attractions."

"Carolina Forest in myrtle beach is an amazing area to live. Specifically Plantation Lakes! Great People and a family friendly environment. Plus most of the homes are custom build with easy access to the community. amenities. A few other communities like the Farm, Waterbridge and the Parks, to name a few offer homes that fit several budgets. All the communities on Carolina Forest offer the perfect driving distance to get to the beach while being far enough away from the business areas during tourist season. "
