Horrible! My child will not be returning. She went in excited and with such a bright light. Now, shes getting therapy and has zero self esteem. My child went from sunny to dark in one school year!

Don’t recommend for children of color! Needs more diversity! School cares more about high test scores than actual teaching. Higher scores more school funding. School pretends all students and their families are welcomed but as a someone who’s witnessed staff on the days they weren’t having to put on a fake smile for the public i’d have to disagree. On their school Facebook page, mainly Caucasian children are recognized, when children of color are recognized, they’re having a bad hair/appearance day or not properly kept. As for test scores, ACAP tests are taken several times a year. Hutchens doesnt tutor the subjects where a child scored the lowest instead they’d rather place a child in tutoring for the subject they scored exceptionally well in so when retested the child exceeds their previous score. Higher test scores mean more funding. This further keeps the child behind moving instead of focusing on getting the child to where they should be grade wise. As a parent myself I’ve witnessed how badly this hurts the child when they’re in a much higher grade struggling with something they should’ve gotten help with earlier on. I can’t even begin to speak about the excessive need for money for various reasons and various functions almost every other day. Depending on the amount of money you’re able to spend on your child’s package is the amount of things he/she can participate in. The children who aren’t fortunate enough are just out of luck. Sadly at this school equality is only granted to white children or families with a substantial amount of money.

This school needs to be shut down. Education isn’t valued and honestly I feel bad for the students that want to do better because you have a bunch of kids that should just be sent off to a military camp. They lack respect for themselves and others. if the school wasn’t an open campus they could control more. But just because kids walk through a metal detector then have access to the outdoors doesn’t make the school safe. Fort Knox that school. Every entrance metal detector, resource officer located at both ends. And constantly moving around the school. When kids change classes every teacher outside their door watching. Being alert and if anything happens have a code to where the officers can get to location fast arrest any kids recording or involved. And then send them off. No strikes. They are in high school meaning they know better. Drug test the athletes and stop hiding behind sports. But first redo that school to actually be a closed campus. No leaving campus etc
