We moved from Charlotte which is a huge district. Not knowing what to expect, I have been pleasantly surprised. On the first day of school the guidance counselor found me in the car pool line to follow up on how my child did on her first day at her new school. Then because the school gets out late I had concerns about getting her to dance. The principal called me back within 30 minutes. The PTO on the first day sent home an ORGANIZED calendar of all the events for the school year. Pause---- while I try to see if I am dreaming. No, this is really happening. She has 17 kids in her class, the teacher responds on "DOJO" almost too fast I feel bad. My child is a high-flyer and my concern was she would have "less-than" education. We originally wanted to go to Oakboro Stem thinking it would challenge her, I can tell you it is the greatest blessing she didn't get in there. They have made sure my child is challenged, they follow up with me, they have it going on over at the Dale! The PTO has great events too. You also do not realize it, but the school is newer than it looks when you drive by. There is a brand new 2 story building behind the old one. They also offer great field trips for the kiddos. We are so so happy we moved out to Stanly County and found this GEM of a school. The staff and teachers are just top notch.

Of the 4 traditional High Schools in Stanly County this is the best. With well rounded academic and athletics programs, opportunities abound for students. A dedicated and stable faculty make the social environment more like family than a high school. Also noteworthy is South has state champions in multiple team and solo sports.

what in the world??? this school is just overall bad. pls dont let ur kids go here.
