This school was TERRIBLE. I went to Wellington from kindergarten through first semester of 8th and I never realized how truly terrible it was till I got out. The teachers aren’t competent, and they all compete to be the favorite among students. All of the teachers have clear favorites and if you aren’t one of them, good luck passing. The counselor smiles at you like she knows too much while not actually offering support, she opts for interrogation instead. My math education consisted of good 6th grade math, then practically 0 learning for the next year and a half afterwards. The teachers would only talk about their personal lives. 4 months in still felt like the first day when you’re getting introduced to the class. I was extremely far behind when I moved. They aren’t setting kids up for success in any way. I remember in 6th grade having more than 40 kids in band, by 8th grade, that number was down to 11. The students all quit because of how bad the teacher was. (He’s still there) I also heard a great deal about the choir teacher being bad, but never did choir, so I can’t confirm.Rules aren’t enforced and it’s practically a free for all at all times. We even witnessed special needs, nonverbal, students being dragged down hallways and thrown into a room while they screamed. The whole school could hear. When this behavior was reported, the counselor and principal simply told us to ignore it and never to bring it up again or there would be “consequences.” There’s a gifted program, but they’d be better off without it. We did nothing. The teachers even read picture books to us. If anything, it made me dumber. I always knew it was bad, I always wanted to get out, so did everyone else. I just never knew how much better my education and just life in general could get, just by moving. The enrollment is supposed to drop down to 3A, and for a good reason. Everyone’s trying to make it out. Please never send your kids here. Please.

Terrible. Horrible. My children still suffer trauma from the rotten experiences there. I realize there are new people now, but the school board is the same bunch of idiots.
