"5 min drive in my personal car. I do not use public transportation. I can get to work using side streets."
  • Leslie Neblock
"I live here now, dogs and cats running around everywhere. No one takes care of their home. I want to move and I could not raise children here"
  • Elaina M.
"There are many dogs living in homes around me so you will hear barking etc. I have my own dog and have always had friendly encounters with neighbors. "
  • Erismorreti
"People will poison and otherwise hurt pit bulls in my neighborhood. I sent mine to live with my ex because our neighbor wouldnโ€™t stop attacking him. Another neighbor threatened to kill any more pit bulls anyone brought to our street. "
  • Robby C.
"I drive to work everyday. I woke about 15 miles from my home. Roads are in good shape and I drive through very little construction. "
  • Theronstewart18
"There are many dogs as well as other pets around the area. Very pet friendly, as well as pet owner friendly. There is a very nice dog park near the public park, nice walk ways for mornings walks, along with drink stations."
  • Chris
"Herrin is a decent town, with a friendly vibe. Seems pretty progressive for its location. 25 minute commute to work. Minimal traffic. Herrin could use more civic amenities i.e...new oublic park, library, bike/walking trails, updated public water park, public greenway, movie theatre, cultural events and a ymca. "
  • Hannah R.
"On the 1800 block of 14th street we have Obnoxious neighbors and loud dogs ๐Ÿ˜‚ donโ€™t bother contacting animal control or the police because nothing will make a difference ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ and forget contacting an alderman about literally anything from a needed stop sign to downed lines or shrubbery blocking road signs causing accidents. And donโ€™t forget the noisy employees at SNC"
  • Debbiejoneslocker
"It's not unique anymore due to the recent clash of addicts roaming the streets and indulging in our properties. I grew up here and hope it goes back to the way it was. "
  • Mlstvens08
"Quiet neighborhood near park. Low traffic. Park within walking distance. Newer subdivision. Several older residents and families in the neighborhood. Very community oriented "
  • Jamie M.
"Herrin is a very friendly community and old neighborhood known for the itialiana festival. Very well mannered children. Always has been more safe then most but anywhere you go these days seems their is trouble with drugs everywhere"
  • Robin g.
"I have lived here all my life in chittyville for 15 years. Mostly quiet close to town but far enough away"
  • Caitlin
"I used to live in this area when I was in college. It felt like a cute little American town. Nice local restaurants in Herrin. Close enough to the college to easily commute every day, but far enough away that you don't have to deal with loud late night partying. Loved my neighbors in Herrin. The only time there is any traffic is during HerrinFest. Miss living in such a cute little community!"
  • princesssofia01
"me and my family have lived here for 16 years and nothing ever have happend...."
  • Danielle
"I live and work in this area. Southern Illinoisians are so nice, and it feels like home."
