3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averageam a parent of a child at this school, and I am very concerned about student safety and the overall environment. There are multiple serious issues:•The principal, Mr. King, does not appear to maintain proper supervision or a safe, respectful school climate.•Students have been given food and drinks that appear spoiled, which is a health risk.•Some security staff speak disrespectfully to students. I have witnessed security guards speaking harshly to children and calling them inappropriate names.•Certain staff members appear to target or intimidate students who are quiet or unable to defend themselves.•Bullying among students, including cursing and aggressive behavior, is ongoing and does not seem to be handled effectively.•I am deeply concerned about reports of inappropriate adult behavior toward students when other adults are not present. Schools must have strict supervision and professional boundaries at all times.•Parents are not allowed to be with their children inside the school, which makes it harder to know what is happening and raises further safety concerns.Overall, this school does not feel like a safe or supportive environment for children. These concerns deserve immediate investigation to protect students.Other Review4mo ago5 Reviews - Ps 288 The Shirley Tanyhill

"Lovely community that keeps on grounded. The garbage streets is improved as it seems more landlords are cleaning the street but there are spots that remain gross especially adjacent to empty lots or building construction areas. Most people are friendly to newcomers. Prospect park is a huge asset. I am impressed and pleased that NYC is taking care of and improving the park especially south of Lincoln ave. "

"Manhattan just hit different — the energy never stops, you’ve got world-class food from every culture within a 10-minute walk, and there’s something magical about how a quiet tree-lined block in the West Village can be two subway stops from Times Square. Neighbors actually say hi at the bodega, and you meet artists, finance folks, and immigrants all in the same coffee line. It’s chaotic, alive, and feels like home."

"People do not clean up after their dogs is like walking through a minefield. People love to just walk around after their dog finished their business."
