"Plenty of public transportation. The city bus goes through town often throughout the day. Newly paved roads."
  • Audrey L.
"Adorable town, I just wish it had more of a walkable village center. The proximity to Bangor and the coast is wonderful! "
  • Lisa F.
"You see people walking their dogs everyday! They are very friendly and pick up after their pets! It is a great place to live!!"
  • Emily B.
"Nice friendly area, close to a lot of places, 20 minutes to central Bangor, 10 to downtown. Safe, lots of kids walk home from school together "
  • Cerebral_chaos59
"Lots of dogs being walked up and down the streets. Very friendly. Unfortunately the sidewalks are on the main road, not the side roads. "
  • Nathan.flewelling
"Family oriented communities. Sense of happiness and content throughout. Friendly people for the most part willing to help others. "
  • Nathan.flewelling
"Dog friendly neighborhood. Side walks far enough off the road that your dog getting into the road is less of a worry. Generally doggy messes are taken care of by owners. "
  • Stephen C.
"Public transportation is an option, so is bike riding if you're into that. can get to mostly everything within 15-20 minutes."
  • Rosie A.
"It’s awesome I love living here... I grew up here and I often keep getting drawn back I absolutely love it here "
  • Steph
"We live within walking distance to schools and stores, including Hannafords. Behind our home in woods owned by the city and schools, there’s an excellent trail system."
  • Rosemarie S. (. .
"I’ve lived in Hampden since I was 3 it’s a nice place I like it. People are friendly and the schools are great. "
  • Mdrautio
"I lived here for over 3 years and moved due to work. Community focused area and great neighbors who really look out for each other, but not overly so. 2 miles from the local elementary and high school in Hampden, 4 miles from center of Bangor and hospital, 15-20 minute drive to UMaine. Great running trails a stones throw away from the Penobscot River. "
  • Johanna
"We have lived here for almost 4 years and couldn't be happier. There are plenty of places to walk our 3 dogs and our neighbors are all extremely friendly. This area has a pretty equal mixture of young families and retirees. I think it's a perfect area to live for just about anyone. It's also very clean and very, very safe. "
