I have had a few children attend AH and have always been happy with the teachers and the principal. There’s a new principal this year who is drastically changing the feel of the school. There’s very little discipline and the much loved assemblies are gone. The new principal is cold and only knows the children of the leaders in the district (PTA, Board of Ed). The principal is unapproachable and dismissive to parents. I really hope she doesn’t stick around for the sake of the staff and students.

We are so fortunate to have the best principal in Westchester County, when you have administrators that care about the whole child your children will succeed. Our district is a 10/10

Eastchester High is a place where students can get serious about academics, try out research or internships, develop their creative side, and still feel supported by teachers and peers. It’s not just about getting through high school — it’s about building something. If I were choosing a school (or recommending one), this would be high on my list.This school is serious about preparing students for what comes next. There are tons of AP classes and dual-enrollment options, so for students who want rigor, it’s totally there. But even better, Eastchester offers an Advanced Science Research program and a WISE internship experience for seniors. The WISE program is super cool — in their last few weeks of high school, seniors can do internships, work on personal projects, or shadow professionals. They end the year with a “WISE Showcase” where they present what they did.In the science research track, students don’t just do lab exercises — they do real, original research. And it’s paid off: some of them have won big awards at regional science fairs. That kind of experience is gold if you’re interested in STEM or thinking ahead to college.From what I can see, the teaching staff really cares. Teachers, coaches, and counselors are invested in helping students succeed academically and personally. The school’s curriculum page talks a lot about balancing academics with emotional and social growth. Small class sizes also mean students aren’t just another face in the crowd. According to district data, the average class size is about 25 students.

Waverly is an amazing and nurturing school! Could not ask for a better K-1 experience. Wonderful, caring teachers and staffs, great programs and excellent learning environment.
