We are new immigrants and seventh graders. STARSCharter School has given me a wonderful experience. There are so many positive things. If I had to describe it in three words as a parent, they would be friendly, efficient, and heartwarming. Friendly: In July, while we were still waiting in line, we visited the school for inquiries. The front desk greeted us warmly, patiently answered our questions, and provided us with admissions materials. Efficient: After we completed our admissions documents, we received a confirmation call from the Head of Middle School. Knowing that I wasn't good at English, he emailed me and answered many of my questions in detail. The response was prompt. He even reminded me of the nearest bus stop. At the beginning of the semester, many unclear points were addressed promptly. Heartwarming: On the day of registration, since we were new transfer students, the homeroom teacher, despite being very busy, took us from class to class to meet the teachers for each of our children's subjects. I was very touched. Once, I was late to pick up my child, and the homeroom teacher had already left work, but he still took me on a long walk to the pick-up point, only confirming that we were okay. Also, every day, a teacher managed traffic on campus, ensuring a smooth and orderly flow despite the heavy traffic. His kind, sincere smiles were overflowing with positive energy. My child told me that her classmates always care about and support her, which helped her adapt to the environment as quickly as possible. I really like the STARSCharter from these teachers and classmates!

great teachers and staff. I love that the send books home with the students for summer reading and they pick one book the whole school reads together during a month.

When I attended Crain’s Creek, I was the subject of multiple acts of violence and bullying. Even having cameras, I was attacked in the region where they were not available. Even with multiple violations, the school did absolutely nothing about it. I eventually transferred schools, and learned what a good learning environment looked like. Crain’s Creek has too many students to effectively teach, and to keep bullying at bay. The week after I left, there were threats of weapons, and a student almost died from injuries received during a fight at the hands of a student. The teachers effectively communicated the core standards of their classroom and provided some useful information. I always found them accommodating, however I have always been considered far advanced for any grade level. The classrooms were by far the safest space on campus, and I will forever thank the teachers for providing me with a safe haven.
