2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a flvs student and I had a teacher for my PM3 testing and my teacher was not very fun to be around. She didn't let me leave when I was done but I didn't belong to the school. I could've walked out and what would have she done? Everytime I asked if I could have leaved early from the front desk they said, "You can leave because your not apart of the school". Everytime I asked her she said, "You can't leave because that's what the testing proctor said". Come on people. I had to sit in a classroom for about 2 hours before I could leave. I had to wait until everyone else was done even if I was done with my test. Why wait for everyone to be done if I don't belong to the school? Under leadership of the previous principal the school received a grade A for 5 out of 7 years. With the current principal at the reigns, the school has never received an A, yet they are the 2nd highest paid principal in the district. This principal takes liberties that are not within her authority, yet the district provides no accountability. While the administration is terrible at this school, it is a product of the school board and district's example of zero accountability. My son, is a bright kid with a lot of potential, but instead of getting the guidance and consistency he needs, it often feels like I’m left to figure things out on my own. I’ve reached out, followed up, and tried to stay involved, but the follow-through and support have been inconsistent at best.What’s frustrating is that I know my child is capable — he just needs the right structure and adults who will actually take the time to redirect him in a positive way. Instead, the same issues keep being repeated without any real solutions or teamwork between school and home.I truly hope the administration takes a deeper look at how students are being handled and how parents’ concerns are addressed.
