8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhen my daughter started school here principal Kevin Martin was in charge and he was just great. Amber Cronin leaves much to be desired. She seems to put emphasis on metrics that improve her image and not the school as a whole (attendance, testing, Bucs rallying) I love volunteering but have found her to be very disrespectful to parents and the PTA. Recent security threats at the school have me concerned as protocols are inconsistent and change daily. Principal offers no comfort or assurance to parents. Principal Martin always kept us updated and reassured. A major threat made with zero followup to parents. Students walked between classrooms under an active “lock in”. The lights for the alarms malfunctioning during active lock in without notice to parents about how this was going to be addressed. Im very worried that in a real emergency this current principal Cronin lacks the leadership skills to keep the school safe. My fingers are crossed she finds the promotion she is currently looking for and we get someone new. The school as a whole is not bad. Many experienced and caring teachers work here. Too bad several teachers left when Mr. Martin transferred. 8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe moved here to have our kids attend this great school however time and time again the staff has proven to have flawed procedures. The bathrooms have been closed on and off for years because there is a vaping/drug problem in this school, the school is so over populated that kids just get stuck in any class and then told there are NO options to change classes, all the while still allowing out of county kids in taking over. Counselors won’t or can’t help kids have somewhat of an enjoyable high school experience with class options or guidance. "Very friendly neighborhood, folks look out for each other. The HOA is reasonable and I’ve lived here since 2001, with no plans to move. Most people keep up their yards but the only downside is that our HOA is unable to force people to upkeep their yards. Only a few are bad. No junk cars, or work vehicles parked . I like it here. "

"I lived in a gated retirement community, which is not reflective of Valrico in general. I know if you explore past I-60, you’ll encounter beautiful treed neighborhoods. I come back to Valrico ,from Tampa, for all services a:top notch and significantly less expensive - Such as Dentist, hair salons, etc. Due to the exploding population/traffic, unless you live near the expressway, it is not a quick commute to Tampa."
