My son is currently attending this school for the ALC program in 1st grade. It is the advanced learning program. You have to be tested by Granite school district to be accepted. I took a chance pulling him out of a charter school which he was doing well in academically already. He is doing worse in math now because of common core. They beat one concept to death. He’s still doing simple addition and subtraction. No word problems. In class, all they do is paperwork. No manipulatives or hands-on stuff. Especially at this age. I volunteer there so they are on a computer for like 2 hours a day. Way too long! I have seen his teacher on her phone several times. Some of the kids are behind so overall instruction is still based on an average level. No point in joining ALC in my opinion. This is a typical public school where you don’t get much say in your child’s education. The teacher doesn’t know her students very well. They tell your 6 year old to fundraise for the school by selling chocolates. Other issues with this school is that they have no music program, P.E. Only sometimes, art once a week, no theater. It’s just a sit at your desk kind of school. He has told me nothing about history or science. What do they do all day?! Lunch food isn’t that healthy. The only plus about this school is the administration is nice. Principal Kip is a good leader and the kids like him. Front office gals are nice. No crazy homework is a plus.

It's not so good, my kid complained one day about how most teachers don't pay attention to there students.

Unsatisfactory, the schools get so much money, tax money, and they are worse than the federal government, waste, waste, and no help for the people who need it the most.
