  • Kelly Zimmerman
"Great parks and public areas, safe for kids and families. Plenty of community events. Wide sidewalks are great for walking. "
  • Trulia User
"Many dogs walking around the neighborhood w/ a few dog parks able to allow dogs to run around off their leash."
  • Kirstie.nix
"Yes people would like living here with their dogs. It’s a nice place. There are lots of pretty places here. "
  • Andrew Bellas
"Boujee neighborhood is how I’d explain. Very touristy and lots of sun year round. Definitely be prepared to shell out cash though for every small thing that you have to buy. That’s how it goes though for rich areas I suppose. "
  • Janzahrobsky
"There are a lot of dogs on the island. There is a dog park at Marckle Park for large dogs and a separate one for the small dogs."
  • Steve
"There is a strong sense of community in this town. Also the support for the area schools and churches are lively and enthusiastic"
  • Betsy M. (.
"Beach yoga. Beach walks. Scuba diving. Kind people. No crime. Swimming. Wildlife. Various events to accommodate everyone. It’s a tropical paradise "
  • Peggypoteetelkins
"There are many family oriented events within the community . Holiday parades, sports events , swimming, biking, and boating. Fun times for the kids on the beach, The island is the home of an elementary school, a charter middle school and the MIA High School which is on the brink of building a new school replacing their temporary structures. Weather it is arts and crafts at the Art League, the Holiday Pageant, the Seafood Festival, or fireworks on the 4th of July on the residents beach there are many things for your children to enjoy. "
  • Betsy
"Not lots if dogs here however the ones I do see are happy. Although not allowed on Residents beach people can bring them if they are helper dogs & don’t bother the wildlife. The reason I see so many children is because I live on the beach"
  • Enggw1
"We do not have events in the neighborhood. There are about 40 houses on our street some are occupied some are part time residents. The town has a lot of activities at Veterans park."
  • Ljart3
"It's definitely a dog friendly area as long as you bring a container to pick up after them. There is a beautiful dog park at Mackal Park and many many people have dogs. It takes good owners."

"I live close to Indian Hill, so we are quite literally the highest point for hundreds of miles! We are surrounded by gopher tortoises and burrowing owls, both protected species, and until Irma took down all the dead trees, we had many osprey. We also see bobcats and iguanas from time to time, not to mention dolphins and manatees. It is an incredible place to live!"
