Construction started spring 1978. Occupied starting June 1979. Sole owners since then. 2x4 wall construction.

Domestic Well
Well drilled in early 1980s by Lentz Well Drilling, Michigamme, MI, but serviced by Kleiman Well Drilling of Iron Mountain, MI since the early 1990s. It is 6 inch diameter steel casing with a pitless adaptor, about 70 feet deep, casing 55 feet and 15 feet in rock, ½ hp pump. Recovery is about 3gpm. It has served the needs of a large family for decades.

Chronology of Updates
2004: new septic system: up graded to a two-tank system and larger 1200 sf drain field by Carlson/Loy Contracting of Ishpeming and with an estimated life of 30 years.
2006: new triple pane windows* in the living room and kitchen.
2008: new triple pane windows* in upper bedrooms, upper bath and lower bedrooms.

*Windows are energy efficient with low-e glass and have a life time (40 year) warranty to the original owner. New owner will receive a partial warranty. Installed by the Window Store, of Marquette, MI.
2012: new metal roof and 5/8 inch OSB deck. Warranty of color 30 years. Okler Construction, Iron Mountain.
2013: All exterior walls Retrofoam insulated by Northern Energy Solutions of Marquette, MI
2013: installation of new water line to well. Owner installed. Relocated to avoid crossing the driveway, placed at 6 to 7 feet deep and covered in 1.5 inch rigid insulation. Line is 1.25 inch diameter, 180 psi working pressure. Purchased from Menards.
2014: Replaced back deck.
2015: new 200-amp service box.
2015: new triple pane window in the family room by Window Store of Marquette.
2016: new hot water boiler heating by Central Heating and Cooling, Ishpeming, heating PEX line installed by owner.
2017: garage constructed 26 feet x 28 feet x 10 high by local contractor.
2017 to 2018: Property selective cut during winter by Michael Kuopus Logging, Ishpeming, MI.
2018: North wall redone to correct siding failure. Replaced studs as needed. Windows reset, reinsulated, vinyl siding added. West wall windows reset, most siding sheets replaced, reinsulated.
2019: Update of Sauna steam, change and adjacent bathroom. Cedar trimmed out and all three stove elements replaced (8kW).
2019: Circle drive landscaped, seeded and fertilized in June. Intended use is for a fire ring and cookouts. Part of circle is dedicated as gravel pad for parking an RV trailer.

Miscellaneous
Unknown years - Attic insulation updated at least twice, combination of blown/batt. Unknown R-value.
We hire out the snowplowing to Randy Harsila a local vendor.
2018: Septic system pumped out in September.

    "it is a very hilly community and you can get winded. The other thing would be if the folks didn't pick up dog waste it could get very messy. When walking your dogs in our neighborhood you sense that people care and enjoy their community. Very safe and secure neighborhoods. There is a leash law in our city and it gives us a sense of security and safety. Strong emphasis on licensing dogs in our city too. "
