6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school has an excellent art program supported by the PTSA, and the teachers and support staff are dedicated. I've been lucky to have my children in classes where the teachers had all been teaching over 20 years each, so they knew what they were doing and were also good at doing their job. The drawback is that the teachers do not have assistants, so one teacher is in charge of 22 children. Only sometimes are there assistants in the classroom, but these are for the special education children only. You should always supplement your child's education at home, and I've always done that part. My children are doing well at the school. I wish there were more parent volunteers, I see the same, small group of parents helping year after year.Parent Review11y ago - Kauai High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageKauai High is a school that emphasizes rigor in its classes. Students are expected to perform at their best in all arenas. Students by and large are respectful to teachers. staff and peers which creates a safe learning atmosphere. Like any large high school it is not without its challenges, but student behavior is managed in a timely way. There is a wide range of classes and students strive to achieve academically. Our focus this past couple of years has been to "Believe in your Dreams"! This motto drives our efforts to go beyond our perceived potential to reaching higher and farther for what we can dream about. Teachers are highly qualified and experienced in their fields. There are also a myriad of student clubs, activities and athletics for students to expand their experiences with. Our Key Club has been nationally recognized for their Leadership and Service. Various sports gain recognition as KIF champions and state contenders. The 2013-14 Football team was the State Runner Up this fall.
