I enjoy a lot of teachers at this school but there are almost an equal number of teachers that should have picked a different career. The principals I feel like genuinely try to keep parents in the loop so that’s good. That being said this is not a school that has field trips or engaging afterschool things like carnivals/fairs etc. You get 5 years of the same field trip to walk around bluff city or go see a play. This school has zero funding and it shows. Classrooms are barren and gray because teachers won’t spend their own money. The school needs MAJOR updates. I really wish they operated like Avoca. The car rider lines are horrendous and should be changed. Bluff city police department doesn’t help either thy stand there or sit in their cars on their phones.

Sullivan East High School is a great school!

Honestly this is the most poor ran and mismanaged middle school I have ever seen. The staff run this place like a juvenile detention center. There is no communication at all with parents.. it’s like the state has your kids for 8 hours a day. The teachers do nothing engaging or try to make learning fun or positive. The funding is awful I’m not sure if the money is being stolen or what but literally no money is being put back into this place. The staff are rude and cold and forget feeling like they care about children and students. The property is pathetic for a brand new school. Tiny parking for the office while acres and acres of flat unused grass sits waiting for the barbed wire fences and watch towers to be set up. Dont put your child in this school you will regret it.
