Boulder MT is located in Jefferson County only 30 minutes from Butte and Helena.  

Butte is the 5th largest city in Montana. Known as the richest hill on earth, Butte began as a gold and silver mining camp. As technology progressed and electricity was developing across America, Butte shifted mining to Copper. At one time Butte produced over 25% of the worlds Copper. Many reminants of Butte's mining past are still visible today including 14 mining headframes and one of the largest historic districts in the US.

Butte, MT is known for hosting many festivals and events. The Montana Folk Festival, An Ri Ra, the Freedom Festival, Butte 100 Mountain Bike Race, Covellite International Film Festival, and SNoFlinga. Butte has one of the largest Irish populations out side of Ireland making the St Patricks Day festivities Internationally known and absolutely legendary.

Butte is nearly surrounded by Beaverhead/Deer Lodge National Forest making access to mountains, streams and trails very easy.

Montana Technological University AKA Montana Tech is a leading STEM University that calls Butte home. Helena is the state capital of Montana and was founded during a gold rush in late 1864.  The Cathedral of Saint Helena was modeled after the Votivkirchein in Vienna Austria and is a stunning piece of architecture that is a must see when visiting.  Other great architecture to visit is the Montana State Capitol building and the Helena Civic Center, formerly the Algeria Shrine Temple.  

Helena is a town rich with history.  You can take a tour of the Original Governor's Mansion, visit the Montana Military Museum, take a short trip over to Elkhorn Ghost Town, or check out the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Experience.  There are several art museums and galleries to enjoy as well as theaters, the Helena Walking Mall and many other points of interest.  Don't forget to spend some time on a walking tour of the Mansion District and learn about some amazing history.  Also check out the Great Northern Town Center with many retail shops, carosel, movie theater, science museum and much more.  

Helena is a great place to start your outdoor adventure, there are hundreds of miles of biking and hiking trails around and many of them start downtown.  Spend some time on Canyon Ferry Lake enjoying the beautiful Montana Scenery or head out to fish several Blue Ribbon Trout Streams just short drives away.  Head up to Great Divide Ski Area just northwest of town for your winter sports get away.  If you are a big game hunter, there are thousands of acres of public land to go chase that elk, bear, or deer of your dreams.  Helena is also just minutes away from the Missouri River as well as Canyon Ferry Lake, Lake Helena, Hauser Lake, Upper Holter Lake and Stansfield Lake.
