Description

This pristine Fallen Leaf Lake cabin has direct access to the marina, boat dock, and lake shoreline. With 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, it can sleep up to 13. It has been completely renovated and features board-and-batten clear pine walls, beamed ceilings, satin-finished cherry hardwood or stone floors, custom doors and cabinets, honed soapstone counters, and custom pale celadon green tile. The front door opens to a stone-floored entry hall with a custom bench and built-in coat rack. The beamed dining/living area has spectacular views out over the lake, and opens out through custom Dutch and screen doors onto a roomy lake-view deck. Stairs from the deck provide quick, direct access to the Marina, store, and shoreline. The kitchen features Wolf, Subzero, and Miele appliances. Waterworks faucets and fittings, Rocky Mountain Hardware and Nanz door handles and knobs, and custom Hammerton lighting are used throughout the home. The living area features an efficient wood-burning stone fireplace and custom built-in shelves for games and books. Also on the first floor is a full bath and a large bedroom which functions as a TV room (with built-in TV cabinet), office, and guest room. The office alcove has a peaceful view of the grounds; a separate built-in window seat can serve as a guest bed. The manzanita stair rail to the upper floor was custom-built to echo the staircase at the historic original lodge at Stanford Sierra Camp down the road. The upstairs has a spacious hall landing, a built-in bench seat/bed, and an under-eaves children's clubhouse with a speak-easy window. The hall landing window provides a magnificent view of nearby Cathedral Peak, which towers over the lake. The primary bedroom features a separate sink area, two large closets, a built-in dresser topped with bookshelves, and a bay window with a spectacular view over the lake. Two other bedrooms and a full bath are also located upstairs. The full basement features a wine cellar, a custom cedar dry sauna with adjacent cold shower, a laundry area, a generous custom-racked storage area for wetsuits, life vests, kayak paddles, water skis, wakeboards, and boating tube (all included), chairs for the swim dock, and a wall of storage cabinets. The other half of the basement is unfinished, and is used as winter storage for outdoor furniture and kayaks. The cabin is sold furnished with some exclusions. A Ski Centurion water-ski boat and three top-ride kayaks are included in the sale. The cabin is part of the Fallen Leaf Lake HOA which maintains parking areas, common spaces and picnic area, a private swim dock, and beach. Fallen Leaf Lake is a secluded, charming community, with unparalleled, out-the-door access to the lake and hiking trails. Glen Alpine Falls, Lily Lake, and trails to Desolation Wilderness are a short hike up the road, and the Angora Lakes lie just over a ridge. The community has a marina, a small store with a grill, a rustic gem of an Episcopal church, and

"Lots of low income rentals and crime. Homes are not well maintained nor are yards. Neighbors are rude to second homeowners. Convenient to local attractions. "
  • C4zbtr9w9c
"The Roads are terrible full of potholes and the tourists make the commute much worse the lights are slow and nobody knows how to drive so there are accidents constantly "
  • Jaredmcdonald3
"Can’t speak on the commute, just visiting. But the town is very nice, the people have been very kind "
  • Erika Spencer
"There are dog friendly trails everywhere, but beware of coyotes, they work in packs to lure dogs away from the owner."
  • Erika Spencer
"My neighborhood has very friendly neighbors. Close to trails. Gorgeous views just a short walk away. Less than a mile from heavenly ski resort and a very short drive to the lake and Stateline. "
  • Nobia
"Fire defense clean up. Half of our neighbors live in other cities and this is their vacation home. A lot of dog walking but not much neighborly interactivity."
  • Nobia
"We are in Al Tahoe near the lake and in the summer we have the Live at Lakeside events with Live Music, food and pubs and restaurants with outdoor seating and for pits encouraging community engagement. All of this is within walking distance from the neighborhood."
  • Bill W.
"It is nice and pretty my friends are all close by and I love the area there are many activities and I enjoy the mountains "
  • Davidm.reyes61
"People who walk their dogs seem very friendly. We are new to the neighborhood, so far so good. It’s very quiet and well kept quaint neighborhood. Our dogs seem very comfortable and happy with the transition to S Lake Tahoe along with us as well. "
  • Colin C.
"This neighborhood feels pretty safe to me, there’s a church right down the street, the whole Main Street is new and well lit, the neighbors are friendly. My mom has been in this neighborhood for almost 20 years and she loves it. "
  • Amber M.
"best neighborhood I loved in in a long time. good schools, nice people, good food places fun night life "
  • Kathi G.
"I bike or drive to work. There are bike lanes and paths. Traffic through town is horrible during tourist season."
  • Lilyanne.ballard
"The commute is fast unless it’s a holiday weekend or heavy construction, which is basically all summer long. "
  • Thurbertime
"Eclectic and fun. Close to everything with endless things to do. Always people walking in the area and lots of wildlife. "
  • Jonathan C.
"My dog LOVES playing in the woods and meadows! Lots of other dogs and most people are very dog friendly!"
  • Siramanee R.
"If there’s traffic it stinks. Sometimes it takes an hour to get to my work in the village especially over summer like on the Fourth of July! It gets really crazy "
  • Kimberlyvillegas50
"It’s a very calm and peaceful neighborhood. I think people would love to live here. Lots of tourists love to come as well "
  • Steve
"Everything in this town is close. If you work in town then it’s a breeze. There is a bus and then always there are taxis so no matter you can get where you need to be "
  • Krgunderman
"Just visiting for a vacation. So far it’s been a great place to visit. Living here would be difficult though. One challenge would be trying to live a normal life amid all of the tourists. Not sure which neighborhoods would be best to avoid the crush of out of town people on weekends and in the winter and summer. "
  • Info
"I work from home but those who commute don’t complain much unless is Sept/Oct construction season. "
  • Dog Dad
"Tahoe is dog heaven! The local dog park is well-maintained with lots of friendly dogs. It’s more popular in the snowy part of the year because most dogs go on hikes with their humans in warmer months. The city and county require registration, but it doesn’t cost too much and helps pay for things dogs need, including identification tags. There are leash laws, but well-behaved dogs who don’t stray far from home are given a bit of freedom to stretch their legs around their neighborhoods, as long as they are friendly and respond to voice commands. Also, there’s no need to worry about fleas, ticks or heart worms, because they don’t thrive at this elevation (6225ft - 10,000ft). That makes life easier for dogs and saves our humans a lot of money! "
  • Lori D.
"I've lived here for 32 years. It's not like it use to be. The lake is gorgeous the mountains are gorgeous. "
  • Chey.osborne
"I just moved here from Sacramento and have never felt more safe in my life. My daughter learned how to ride her bike on our street, we are friends with the ambulance drivers and neighbors are lovely. "
  • dan f
"Tahoe is a very pet friendly location . I currently live in an apartment with my current girlfriend & she has a dog & it's very well behaved & respectful. SLT has been a home for my daughter and I for over 15 years & don't wanna leave again "
  • Carla P.
"All you really need to worry about is the traffic, sometimes the cars don’t seem to be paying attention "
  • Carla P.
"Kids get bored up here at this time. There’s not much for them to do but that is changing either this summer or next "
  • Blabbitt
"Lots of areas to walk our dogs, shooing is close casino’s are in walking distance the diners are great"
  • Kate
"Very safe low crime area. I’ve owned this cabin since 1992 and have lived here full time for 2 years. My neighbors are wonderful. This is a quiet county area. Lots of wildlife come through my yard. The streets are not lit at night. The sky is alight with stars. Peaceful. "
  • Dan F.
"I've lived in my neighbor Hood/town for around 30 years & absolutely love Tahoe. My only daughter was also born here thankfully. The Lord absolutely created a perfect location on this planet, partially Heavenly!!!!!!! "
  • Beau D.
"This neighborhood is extremely dog friendly, if only that were the case about the housing for pets just like anywhere else in Tahoe. "
  • Carla P. .
"None at this time. I currently live at what is considered to be the “y” area and there are usually no community events held in this area "
  • Peterspellman
"Great place to live, great to be one with nature. Lots to do with hiking, boating, mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding, water skiing etc."
