9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI’m writing this review for families in Soquel and the surrounding areas considering Mountain Elementary.Mountain Elementary is a small school with one class per grade and the potential to be a strong, close-knit community. However, that potential has not been fully realized in recent years.There has been significant teacher turnover, raising concerns about consistency and stability for students. In my experience, this appears to be connected to challenges in school leadership. I have found the administration, under Principal/Superintendent M. Tresham, to be lacking in support for both staff and parents.Communication and responsiveness to concerns have been limited, and there is a sense among some families and staff that raising issues is discouraged.As a result, the school no longer feels like the stable, highly regarded option it once was.
