I am a Teacher’s Assistant at Centennial Elementary here in Scio. Our Principal Kim Roth over the past years has helped to build a climate that encourages learning and growth. As an employee I feel respected for the work that I do in helping our students throughout the day. I feel that the work that I do is valued because of the support that I get from our staff, our families, and our community. We adopted a new reading curriculum last year as well as putting in place “All Student Reading and Writing Groups”, which has proved to be very successful. This year a new Math curriculum has been adopted. The administration and staff are focused on children’s emotional and physical well being as well as their academic growth. All in all, Centennial is a wonderful place to be and I highly recommend it!

This school has been a great success for my daughter and her exceptional need's. Her teachers and the principal have been understaning and motivated to get her where she needs to be. Unlike most, they listen when you have a concern...

The administration and staff are very kind and approachable. My son loves that he can take forestry and wood shop in addition to the standard academics. It’s a great school and great community. Also, I’d note that when we hosted our exchange student from Spain for a school year where he attended Scio High and loved every minute of it. Sergio had spent three summer exchanges with us and when his parents asked if he could come live with us for a school year we jumped at the opportunity. He was warmly supported not only in his new school but also onto the basket ball team having only really played soccer back in Madrid. My experiences has been that this is great school and a great community of kids that are welcoming to kids from all different backgrounds and abilities, local or not.-Nicole Zedwick
