OVSD has potential but fails students by catering to the opinions of a select few in the rural community. Following Oley's desire to limit diversity and drive away growth and outsiders, the school board holds meetings debating the very federal laws that protect diversity and students who don't quite fit the Oley mold. Many educated families move into the district and out within a few years. Once a desirable district, it no longer carries that reputation.Even prior to COVID, the district failed to reliably secure substitutes Now, as they disregard most covid precautions, the school struggles with teacher absences, student quarantines, & frequent 45 min bus delays.The strengths of the school are the music program, a well-meaning Superintendent, and quality teachers but you could find the same without our devastating weaknesses at neighboring districts. If in the market for a home, consider another district as this one is quickly and seriously decaying.

School is more money hungry since over paid superintendent who lacks compassion was hired despite pending legal case for lying to authorities. Those with special needs are not given the attention and care they are entitled to. It was a great district, but one person ran it into the ground.

I go to this school and it’s amazing. It’s very safe and family friendly. The teachers can be very funny and the other students can be mean but all of the teachers take care of that. We get lots of attention and every kid gets the attention that they need. We have lots of fun activities like concerts, field trips, a bunch of sports, school musicals, and many more. Yes we are a small school but it’s amazing. I could never wish for a better school than this. We gets lots of work done and we are taught well. We also get lots of tests( which is very annoying) which is important. We have well built lunches that are very good. They have lots of fruit and veggies to keep us energized. So Yes I would recommend that you take your kids to oley valley school district.
