As a current student at Maries R1, I personally would not recommend this school. Not only has this school been insanely awful on my mental health but my physical well-being too. The teachers do not care whatsoever about the wellness of their students. They are not very good at teaching the courses they do and a good majority of us students have to learn it by ourselves. I went through a lot because of the faculty. It's a small town and if you have a last name that's relevant you will not get punished for any bullying that goes on, which it does quite frequently. My last name is not as well known around here and I've dealt with some of the meanest insults and comments made.. when I stood up for myself i'd get suspended and if I went to faculty, they wouldn't do anything for the simple fact that they knew the families and didn't want to deal with it. My mental health was at its worst last year due to the amount of mental trauma I went through out of school which affected me to a point where I wasn't putting effort into anything and the faculty knew this because what I went through was legal matters. They treated me with the upmost disrespect no matter how hard I was struggling, I tried to put as much effort as I possibly could and they treated me as if I could just get over it and get their classes done with an A. Nothing gets done about bullying, sexual harassment, or any kind of harassment going on in the building. I do not recommend this school especially if your kids are in high school. Elementary school for me was not bad but as soon as I got into the high school I had realized that all of the high school faculty is related to each other and half the town. Nothing gets done about anything negative going inside Vienna. I do not recommend.
