6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI spent three years at Banks Trail Middle school. I'm now heading into highschool. This school has definitely taught me alot even beyond the curriculum. To start on a good note, most teachers I've had have done their best to ensure a positive and active learning enviornment for students. Though, I wasn't taught by every teacher at Banks Trail I can tell you the ones who I had the experience of knowing were certainly great people, especially my 8th grade teachers. They made succeding efforts to build bonds with students and help them feel comfortable in class. My overall education and learning experience was average. I do fine in all classes and most curriculum was easy to follow despite the rush sometimes to keep up with it and finish at the end of the year. On the other hand, the social and behavioral aspects of Banks Trail are nowhere near as admirable. Misbehaving students who have a past of bad behavior aren't treated like they should. If they get into an altercation with another student they're only pulled out of class by and administrator and come back 30 minutes later with nothing learned. If you fail to help students understand what's wrong with their actions, they'll never learn and only continue to do it. I've seen some of the worst disrespect I ever have just walking through the hallways in Banks Trail that is just tossed around like it's nothing. I understand it's very difficult to control teenagers, let alone hundreds of them, but it's disheartening to hardly even make an effort. I would go into much more detail if there weren't a word count on the reviews.Branching off from that aspect but staying on the same level, the treatment of Special Education students. I can't count on my fingers to tell you how many times I've witnessed students and staff treating special ed students like they're lesser than. It's extremely unsettiling to hear an adult repeat a command to a child when they're frozen up or don't understand. If you're talking to someone who doesn't speak the same language as you, do you think making no effort to speak in their language will be of any help in your conversation? It's wont. Because that person hasn't learned your language and you haven't learned theirs. You need to make a change if you want your conversation to be productive. Since I'm almost out on my word limit, I have to conclude my review. But understand, there is a lot more to be said.Thank you, Banks Trail, for the time spent here. 9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have loved the years we have experienced at KTES with our child. He has been loved by his teachers and challenged. He comes home from school sharing his new spelling strategies and math skills. He loves learning and that is something that be fostered at home and killed in the classroom, but his spark for wanting to learn, grow, and read have caught fire. It isn’t without the support from the school staff like the related arts teachers, classroom teachers, school counselors, the media specialist, and all the other adults pouring into him each and every day.Parent Review1y ago2 Reviews - Check out schools near 357 Epps Rd.

"Yes, dogs are well liked in the neighborhood. We have doggie “bags” so pet owners can be responsible. Every one seems to enjoy meeting neighbors dogs and they watch out for them…just like children! "

"It’s a very fast growing bedroom community of Charlotte. Very different than it was ten years ago. The roads, schools, and retail are struggling to keep up with the influx. The new neighborhoods are attractive but it’s a shame how developers are allowed to clear cut acres and acres of forest to build them."
