My children have unfortunately attended this school for years. It is now Barbour Elementary. In the entire 7 years I have been associated with this school the amount of times I've been made to feel like my child matters can be counted on one hand. They tout a zero tolerance policy for bullying, but they don't enforce that. I understand the children in this county are a handful, but when you stop communicating with the parents that do care, it makes you look like the bad guy. This school district in general has made my good for the future plummet. While there's been several great staff members I have met, they always leave because they know the administration does not have anyone's best interest in mind. They pass children in grades where they should be held back. The education system isn't perfect nowadays, and they struggle with the parents a lot. This is true. The education sector deserves an equal amount of support. However, with Barbour County, it won't matter. Their core values are make themselves look good. Your child is just another statistic of a struggling school district.
