  • Adeola O.
"There's alot of dogs here you you're in good company. Lots of grass, wooded area. Friendly area. Not many actual dog parks though.."
  • Robert M.
"No fences allowed is a major down fall for dog owners. We do have a dog park but not very big and you have to have a membership to go."
  • Charyl F.
"Pool, restaurants, gym, recreation area, dog park, clubhouse, 2 lakes, active committees, equestrian center, stores close by, etc. Located 20 minutes from Fredericksburg in one direction or Culpeper in the other. "
  • Ashley L.
"You will need a vehicle out here. Everything is far except the food lion & small shopping center across the street. Walmart is a few minutes down the highway. "
  • Lana T
"fireworks for July 3th, Santa riding thru the neighborhood at Christmas, pool parties, dances...lots of things go on here "

  • Utebernard
"I’ve lived here 25 yrs. have loved the area and all the amenities. New dog park is great. Most neighbors are"
  • Keith S.
"I love being out here in Locust Grove. The summers here are milder and there are a lot of things to do if you love the outdoors. Neighbors are down to earth and friendly. There is less traffic and the culture is very family friendly. If you are into a more fast paced life, I'd recommend going more into town. "
  • Tony P. B. R.
"I was born in Washington DC and raised in Arlington, VA. While I occasionally miss the urban lifestyle, I am confident I made the right decision in moving my young family to this area. The schools are caring, the neighbors are friendly, and you can't beat the best of living in open spaces, near wineries, boating, golf, mountains and lakes. Yet, you are a quick hour and fifteen minute car ride to the museums of Washington DC or about an hour and a half to the amazing views, cabins, slopes, waterfalls and camping of Skyline Drive and George Washington National Forest. It's an amazing location, and an amazing lifestyle for family and couples alike!"
  • Kelley
"This is a beautiful place to live , neighborhood filled with trees, and very very safe and family friendly. Fantastic elementary and middle school. High school......not so much. No fenced in yards for dogs allowed . Play parks, swimming pools, the lake, walking and biking trails, horses, kids center, golf, a gym....way too much to mention! Water bill higher though due to something technical, traffic is never a problem here but heading into Fredericksburg during rush hour is a pain. Both Fredericksburg and Culpeper arnt far and have just about anything. We love to fish. It's nice to drive home from work and pass all the hustle and bustle , walk a block to the lake and relax. "
  • The G. A. T.
"This is a great place for water sports, golf, fishing, horse back riding and relaxing. The area is condusive to both full time residence and second homes. There are so many activities both inside and out doors. Lake of the Woods community has active adult recreation as well as family fun. The lake is wonderful! "
