New Sweden Consolidated School may be small and in a rural community; but, don't let that fool you. In fact, this school has a lot to offer. Small class size offers individualized attention and academic immersion. Students are encouraged to participate in academic, extracurricular and community activities. New Sweden has strong music, robotic and art appreciation programs. Everyone is encouraged to participate in the extracurricular activities. Soccer, cross country running, basketball, show choir, cross country skiing, band, choir, public speaking, young authors, math team, track and field and baseball are taught throughout the year. Community service is highly valued within the school. The students help in the kitchen clean up duties and work on projects to maintain the school. This year, they have constructed a greenhouse and will be growing vegetables for their lunch program. New Swedens' food program has been showcased because of their ability to provide healthy, homemade breakfast, snack and lunchtime meals for their students. The teachers take the time to know and encourage the students. My child has learned so much since he enrolled in New Sweden.
