5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSo i am a current student at manheim central Highschool. While it has tons of classes for all kinds of students. I am a bit irritated at the higher up staff like the dean. Manheim is a school that wants a bunch of college students to come out of manheim so the school finally will have a name for itself. Most the councilors get rather offended when you advise them that college is not your plan and will tell you college is what you need. But what rather upsets me the most is just how sensitive the school is. I have been threatened with detention for simply waking the halls during a class and I know a bunch of other students who have been punished for showing up late to school 4 times. I have asked the staff why this is such an issue and they underlying dont have anything to say besides. "It's not professional" or " if you were late to work you would be in trouble" rather than excepting that not everyone wants to be a perfect A+ student. They punish those for wanna be different instead of working on there dictator like program. They always mention how school should be fun but will punish everything and every little thing and they cannot take the smallest sliver of criticism. Even the basic math classes are setup like standard college courses.Student Review7mo ago7 Reviews - Manheim Central Middle School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter has attended both elementary school and middle school at Manheim Central. The elementary school is just a couple years old and is very nice. They have a full gym and a cafeteria that doubles as an assembly area with a full stage. This assembly area is equipped with a near theater grade A/V system. Individual classes have the latest A/V projection systems. I have been happy with all my daughters teachers there.Subject specific teaching starts in 5th grade at the middle school. These days many school districts have had to eliminate many of the extras like music, band, and art. That is not the case here. They have choir, art, and band electives. They even have a technology and robotics lab. Every child gets their own laptop. The middle school has a very nice auditorium that many high schools would love to have. My daughter at least has not had any problems with bullying, so I can't really comment on that.Parent Review4y ago4 Reviews - Doe Run Elementary School

"There aren’t any sidewalks but i do see people walking their dogs along the road often. It is a high traveled road but motorists are normally pretty aware of people walking. "

"Lots of school activity-related community events such as band competitions, football games, and fundraisers. There are farm shows, parades, races, holiday events, and plenty of interesting programs sponsored by the local library."

"I just moved here and just learning the ropes, but so far the people are incredibly nice and you get that small town feel but is still close-by to "urban" amenities. It's safe to walk (even at night), people look out for one another, great for kids or dogs. Most things are within walking or biking distance...the bus stops on my corner like clockwork throughout the day so public transport is easy enough access. The area is clean, but I like that it's not so "upscale" that people are constantly nagging or reporting small stuff (like too many bags of trash or grilling on the porch)...everybody just does their own thing, helps those that need, are friendly and approachable, and welcoming to a wayward stranger all the way from CO. Looking forward to getting to know the area much better :)"

"It is quiet, crime rate is very low, neighbors are friendly. My kids can walk/ride their bikes without too much fear. We as a community still believe it takes a village to raise a child. "

"They'd love it. There is a lot of room for dogs to take walks and neighbors are friendly. I don't know what the community guidelines are but I feel the community is open to dog owners and dogs."

"We moved here from Philadelphia 5 years ago. What a difference nice and the best move we could have made. It’s quiet and we feel like we live with human beings again, not with the animals who comprise our old neighbors. People are great and everyone looks out for each other. Life is grand!"

"My park is mostly elderly people who are retired. I stay with my mom who's disabled with fibromyalgia and my disabled brother who's blind and hearing impaired. It's right off the highway so you can get anywhere within a decent amount of time. But forget public transportation unless you pay for an uber or taxi. I am currently looking for a more family oriented neighborhood that is within a single mother's budget and that's not easy to do. "

"Rental properties don’t seem dog friendly at all or charge a major premium for dogs. They also require breed test and max weight of 25 pounds "

"Like: Very accepting neighborhood for pets Dislike: There isn't any paths/parks or anything for pets, you'd have to walk them on the road."

"This is a quiet, rural area. The neighbors are friendly and it's very peaceful. We don't have much in the way of stores or entertainment, but it's a great place to take your dog for a walk or sit on the porch, watching the cars drive past."
