I have four children who have attended Madison; one has already graduated. I’ll be honest, Madison may not always look impressive “on paper,” but once you step inside the building, you quickly see what a wonderful school this is.Class sizes are small, allowing students to get much more individualized attention from teachers and aides. The school has a strong sense of community, and many staff members live locally or are Madison graduates themselves.Madison is forward-thinking in its approach to learning. During the pandemic, it was the only local school where students already had iPads or Chromebooks to bring home, making the transition to remote learning far smoother than in neighboring districts.Two of my children have IEPs, and they have been supported exceptionally well here. The Committee on Special Education works hard to meet students’ needs and is excellent about communication, something I can say about the entire teaching and support staff.The district superintendent is also a tremendous asset. He is approachable, visible in the school community, and consistently works in the best interest of both the district and its students.Parents have many opportunities to get involved and support the school community through groups like PTO, the Optimist Club, and a very active Sports Booster program.Overall, Madison is a small but mighty school where students are known, supported, and encouraged to thrive.
