6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child went to this school last year and I was very unsatisfied. The leadership is very poor. Many of the staff members are older mean, rude and harsh when speaking and disciplining the students. There was only one school safety agent in the whole entire school. Also, the school didn't like parents coming to visit their child in the classroom. There was no extracurricular activities in the school such as basketball, art, dance, steelpan or music. The principal was very unwelcoming, unapproachable and unfriendly. I am so happy my child goes to a better school in another district.Parent Review2y ago6 Reviews - High School for Public Service-Heroes of Tomorrow

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is a small school and a close-knit community. There is a very experienced teaching staff, and art, theater, and music are available for students (rare in a small, public, school). There are issues with communication between Admin - Staff - Students - Guardians, and because it's a small school, the schedule and options are somewhat limited. Overall, it's a great school that focuses on academics and community service.Parent Review3y ago1 Reviews - Check out schools near 348 Maple St #8D.

"It is a Decent commute, everything is within 15 minutes to 1 hour. There is a bus on most routes and a way to get to a subway station to be able to get to your destination. When it comes to transportation this borough has the most transportation by far. "

"The 2 and 5 are about a 5 minute walk. You can take the select SBS44 to the G. Fairly easy. But everything seems far away"

"Good transportation but for the last three weekends the trains have not been running. There is a bus stop which helps but the subway is not always reliable. That is all I have to say. "

"It’s great for walking your dog. People just don’t pick up after their dogs which really sucks. But if you have a dog and you clean up after it, it’s great."

"Proximity to all means of transportation bus trains and taxi service, Prospect park facility availability is better hop skip and a jump , traffic is a bit crowded at times everybody busy to go in the same direction nowhere . Proximity to the local hospital kings County about a five minute walk up all three minute drive depending on traffic although also Barclay center is about 10 minutes by bus"

"I’ve lived in this neighborhood directly facing Prospect Park for 12 years. The neighborhood has wonderful attributes with access to the park, Botanical Garden, Zoo, library and museum being very high on the list. Many aspects of the neighborhood have deteriorated as well. The entrance to the park area has crime, homelessness, littering and over crowding in the warmer months. We are leaving this neighborhood after suffering many of these issues. Mainly our dog has become very anxious because of all-night sound and fireworks throughout the summer nights. If you have no dog and no young babies it is worth checking out."
