so, this school does a good job on trying to give a great learning advantage to every student but me and my peers often find it very boring and frustrating. i generally find myself sleeping or zoning out or doodling when it comes time to listen. would be great if we had more hands on learning. has taught me very valuable stuff though. with teachers it’s a complicated thing to work through. most teachers are very kind and care about their students no matter if an adult in the room or not. others will only be this kind when another staff or a parent is in the room. this makes the kids feel annoying and showing no integrity which this school heavily influences. as a student I think that it’s important to hear me out because this is first hand experience. I’ve seen it happen and I’ve been a noted by it many times. one thing I can say is that this school does a good job of keeping kids safe. As a student I feel very safe and not once felt unsafe. I’ve been to deer creek since I was in 4th grade and I have come to find deer creek almost as my second home and what I’ve found is that there can be many complaints about teachers even from me. There are some teachers that are very sweet and care for kids but I wouldn’t feel bad saying that I personally think we need some new teachers. these teachers can be stuck on what they used to do and I’ve even see a kid get stuck in a math boost that that they had grown out of and was ready for the next step in their learning but got stuck in that class because the teacher wanted them to stay there. I think that some teachers just aren’t fit to be teaching anymore and we need some younger teachers. the counselor is a good one and I think she does a fantastic job at helping kids, she’s younger and can click with the students more but has boundaries between being their friend and a staff member. The kids feel comfortable around her but they also know to look up to her and listen to what she says. Making the students be the best they can be and show their real selfs. Thanks for listening

Overall, we have loved this school for our son. The campus is nice and clean. Communication is outstanding. I can email teachers directly and they are very cooperative. I love that they utilize PowerSchool for grades so I can always see fairly up to date information on grades. I also think the lunch staff is also very helpful. They use MySchoolBucks which is very convenient and helpful. I think the lunch period seems a bit short, but that's a minor issue. Otherwise, my son has been very happy at this school and has gone from barely passing to honor roll. It makes me almost want to go back to high school (almost).

Excellent teachers and principal. They care about their students and families. Highly recommend.
