Things may have changed, however it doesn’t sound like they have. It’s been some years since I attended Byram Hills. We moved to Armonk when I was 10 years old and we left in the summer before I started my senior year. I found my experience to be profound. I didn’t make a lot of friends, actually it was just one good friend that I had. There was a lot of competition and many families and their children were from wealthy backgrounds. There was one area on the north side of town that was looked down upon because of a different income bracket. Although I personally never felt anything one way or the other, it was evident in the way the students interacted with other students . You might say it was very clicky. In that sense students were boxed in, not really accepting or even recognizing people outside of their perceived little world. Kind of like Stratford wives only kids! L O L. I felt isolated but pushed hard and made the honor roll multiple times. When we moved, the next school I attended in my senior year was very easy and in that sense I give Byram Hills a lot of credit. They taught and they taught well! If I had to choose it all over again, I don’t know if I would’ve stayed at Byram Hills for the last year of school but I do know one thing, if I had stayed, I believe my life would’ve been totally different. I must say I am happy with my life as is!

Both my children enjoyed being at Coman Hill Elementary. They still return to visit their teachers, who they say made great impressions on them. My daughter was very shy and had a difficult time with separation, but her teachers and aids spent extra time with her and helped build her confidence. My son was diagnosed with special needs but after spending 3 years at Coman Hill with exceptional occupational therapists and counselors, he too moved up with great memories of the experience. There are so many community oriented programs and moral building exercises that have helped to establish and build my children’s character. I’m thankful for this excellent foundation for my kids.

Our experience with this school has been wonderful. The teachers genuinely care for the students and it reflects in the work they do and their attitudes about school. Our guidance counselor, Claira Domato, is very supportive, kind, and helpful. We feel very lucky to be part of this school.

Wampus has done a tremendous job educating my son. They challenge him academically and support him emotionally. I have been very impressed.
