Our experience at Bethpage High School hasn't been the best. The school doesn't provide a bus for anyone who lives under 2.5 miles away from the school, which is practically the whole student body. The students who walk live on one side of town have to cross entrances for Route 135 and there are no crossing guards. The school has extremely harsh attendance policy. If a student has too many absences (and this includes illness) gets an automatic failure. The school is also unsupportive towards neurodivergent students. Getting an IEP is next to impossible even if your child has been officially diagnosed. If you manage to get an IEP it is equally hard getting the school to put in sufficient supports for your child. The responsibility was placed on much child to shape up. Much like any school you have some great teachers and then some not so great teachers. It's luck of the draw.

I recently graduated this school, they're great, but they can do better to prevent bullying.

Bullying in Bethpage schools is a big problem! Administrators from the top down do nothing to keep the children safe. The district is only concerned with protecting their own high salaries and jobs. Children are not being educated in this school. Teachers teach to the lowest level so everyone passes. They have zero academic standards, everyone gets passed through. It’s terrible how children are ignored, hurt and discriminated against. If you speak up they take it out on your child and will make your child’s life miserable.
