I am sad to say that sports is the only exciting thing about this school. Academic learning by itself is challenging especially for those in Alternative Education, as the Administration of the school low balls students who "don't fit in". Many teachers are disrespectful towards students, which can often be a two way streak, but the amount of targeting and rude remarks done by the teachers is outrageous. In 8th grade, a teacher wrote.me up for being late to class when I was on crutches for a knee surgery. Freshman year I got jumped at school by a junior and was later threatened by the school police officer of fining me with disorder conduct for "antagonizing" the fight. The only thing the staff in this school district prioritize is their paycheck and a grade. I have been raised my whole life in these schools and would never even consider taking kid here when I'm an adult. This school doesn't prepare kids for their life, and if they do, all it shows is the negative things in this world they will encounter.

The school used to be a great school, for the most part. I, along with many, many others will now have to disagree its anywhere near as nice as it used to be. Mainly with the new principal there. She ignores parents with children who have an IEP request to change teachers if the parent feels it isn't the best fit. I've been told she ignores parents on several other things as well and even students will say they dont like her as she is "mean" She even went out of her way to message staff that they are no longer to respond to me as I went above her head trying to get a better teacher for my son. She called me yelling at me that I better stop going to other district members trying to switch my child's teacher. If you can, homeschool or choose a different school as long as this current principal is Humkes principal.
