8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIn my first semester there since I came in late I didn’t get much say about classes, but they wouldn’t put me in any classes with my friend's NOW HANG ON. You might think “well they don’t want you goofing off!” Well. That didn’t turn out to great. I turned so socially awkward, I didn’t make any new friends. And DESTROYED any old ones because of how bad my anxiety got! And then next semester they ignored everything that happened, put me in the same lunch with my friends but damage had already been done, they made me go to see the school counselor (she didn’t help at all btw). But when they found a book of all mg thoughts? They made me come down, do a 20 questions ‘do you like being on this earth!’ Quiz and then scream at my mother to put me in a hospital. They don’t do anything for students who have mental health issues. They force them out of there comfort zones when they’re not ready making them want to hide even more. Force them to talk about things they don’t want to. And don’t care about actually helping! But the teachers are fine, even though some of them are weird and touch you with out permission (only happened to me with one teacher). And with the work they give, Students need more explanation and time doing a assignment. You can’t give a bad explanation and expect us to turn it in, in a week. And when faced against a boy looking in the girls locker room. You know what they did? Nothing! He was suspended for 2 days! Nothing else! And when he continued to harass girls. NOTHING! But when my own friend yells at a kid for saying slurs about LGBTQIA and black people. She gets sent to detention the rest of the day and yelled at.Other Review1y ago10 Reviews - Highland High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a current student at this school, and throughout my time here i have felt more overwhelmed, isolated and unsupported then i've ever felt. The administration in particular, has constantly been super unhelpful. Whenever I or someone else raises a concern or states an issue their response is almost always, "We'll look into it." Yet no changes ever follow. This pattern has made it very difficult to trust that the students well-being is a genuine concern and priority. While the teachers are wonderful, kind, dedicated, and genuinely care about their students sucess, the overall enviroment at the school is very discouraging. There are ongoing issues in the student body such as instances of racism, which creats a very unwelcoming atmosphere; as well as students making fun of their peers with disabilities. I've never seen these problems adressed in a way that is effective. The physical condition of the school is awful. The building smells super unpleasant, like rotten eggs. I personally have seen rats, and the floors are cleaned once a week maximum. The girls bathroom on the second floor has been closed since the beginning of the school year. None of these problems have seemed to be fixed since they're building a new school. During spring break, I was so happy to be away, I started crying though at the thought of returning and having to be there for another month; which made it very clear to me that staying here is not healthy for me or my mental health. I'm transferring to a different school next year, and based on my time here, I would never recomend this school to others. Although the teachers are amazing, the enviroment doesn't feel safe, supportive, and certainly not welcoming.Student Review2mo ago6 Reviews - Liberty School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy experience at Innovations Early college isn't the best but i got to live through it. One of the best parts is the freedom we get to work at our own pace. We have our own independent study time that lets catch up if were behind. I would say that the teaching style is not what people would like. For ex in math class , were assigned patterns to do the classwork. Isn't the teacher supposed to explain the lesson. That would be much better and i bet we would also learn better. Science is great. English in also great. But history , like what's even the point of having history class without a teacher teaching. They just make us read alone and do our work alone. C'mon guys! it feels too independent, and if you fall behind it can be hard to catch up. I also wish there were more fun activities and classes, like sports or clubs, so students could connect outside of class. . Having more fun activities would help everyone connect and feel more excited about coming to school. Overall its a 3.5-4/10.Student Review7mo ago2 Reviews - Check out schools near 336 E Beldon Pl.

"Salt Lake City is a community of people who know how, when, and where they need to come together. You get all the Utah classics (soda shops, Mormon history, a plethora of hair salons), but all with a bit of SLC’s edge. Central city is the arguably the most walkable when it comes to retail and food. "

"It's safe for children, but there just aren't that many. The neighborhood is aging and most young people can't afford to live here. There are mainly young professionals moving in. "

"New multi unit apartment buildings have been and are being constructed. A lot of construction and pipeline maintenance is going on resulting in detours and traffic issues. When all that is completed, it should be a great improvement. There are homeless scattered around but that is throughout the greater Salt Lake City area."

"Charming cozy homes in a great town that makes you feel apart of a loving uptown community. I can smell the coffee brewing and I've got that cuddle up and read a book feeling. Lovely area to get out and go for relaxing walks as well."

"Cute area with local shops. Be careful of petty crime, including car break-ins, loitering, and package stealing. "

"Not really a great place to raise a family. And any parks around here are a good walk away if you don”t have a vehicle. It’s loud at times and not very reliable for safety. Rent is too expensive "

"Nice if you don’t have a vehicle easy to get around because everything is close but not ideal for families, there’s always construction somewhere in this neighborhood, it’s very loud. it’s very expensive to live here. "

"There's always areas to walk around any time youd like and there's lots of walking areas. However lots of transients live around so you may deal with them bothering you to pet your animal but everyone is super friendly for the most part but late nights lots of less transients but very wishy washy. "Great for dogs, walkable, close to a lot of parks. Some people don’t clean up after their dogs, it can be a minefield in some places. "

"I would not say this is a family friendly neighborhood. There are lots of random people on the streets but it is really close to the park which is very family friendly"

"I’ve lived here for a year and a half. The people are friendly and down to earth. It is close to parks and downtown. The eating out options are fantastic. "

"This is a nice area right by smiths and close to the library, several parks and the free Trax area. Perfect for active couples or college students. Incredibly easy and fast commute to the University of Utah, City Creek and Gateway Shopping Centers, and to downtown."
