7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOver the past several years, this school has definitely been moving in the wrong direction. Education of students, support of teachers, and improvement of the overall learning environment, have all taken a backseat to the pursuit of athletic achievement and the most current educational excellence theme of the year. Grades and class completion are subject to manipulation by administrators in order to artificially inflate graduation success.Teachers are passive, demoralized, and uninspired. Classroom management is nonexistent. Teachers teach from their desk and spend their time buried in their laptops. Students are frequently off task or asleep or on their phones. The school does not enforce the South Carolina Department of education’s cell phone, and personal electronic device policy.Administration is unresponsive and seems interested in only making the symptoms of problems go away rather than solving the problems themselves. Communication is terrible. There is zero transparency in the decision-making process. All decisions are made at the top, there is no distribution of authority, and teachers are not empowered to make decisions. Vandalism, disrespect and student fights are a regular occurrence on campus. Discipline is terrible. As a teacher, I would never recommend a parent send their child to this school.Teacher Review1y ago17 Reviews - Ten Oaks Middle

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhere can I even start with this school. This school is easily the worst building I have ever had the displeasure of entering. Some background about me, I am a transfer student who spent my sixth and seventh grade in Virginia. Virginia was a blast. This school has twisted my perception and take on schools. I will break down my review into the six categories.LearningThe learning at this school is actually not that bad, but many of the teachers seem like they don't care if the topics actually stick to the students' mind. I am a little slow at learning, and I feel ran over for it.Special EducationWhile technically not Special Education, I do have a 504 plan. That was entirely ignored throughout my stay at this school. Nothing was done about it.TeachingOnly four of my eight teachers here are teachers I would actually consider good. The others either were the type who didn't care, or the type who hated kids. Also, not teaching, the administrators at this school are borderline manchildren. They are power-hungry, and dish out extreme punishments for petty things.SafetyBullying is rampant at this school, even by the administrators. This is supposed to be an institution of learning, not a juvenile detention center.Social-Emotional supportThis school does not care how the students feel, and didn't care how I felt. No adults here genuinely care how the students feel. I have resented this school since Quarter 2, and they didn't care.Family EngagementNo family involvement at all, or minimal involvement. 1-2 meetings a year at most. Family is not their problem at this school.Other Review11mo ago9 Reviews - Check out schools near 332 Kiskadee Loop #E.

"A lot of traffic getting in and out of Conway, especially with Halloween being so popular and now the holidays. "

"I see people walking their dogs all the time and they are usually leashed or have some kind of fancy collar so they don’t just roam around. "

"Commute not too bad if you have your own transportation. Public transportation is not the best in this area. "

"Commute is arguably the only problem and worst part of living in Conway. Getting into the city from the south or the coastal route will have you in bumper to bumper traffic any time it’s during work commute hours. Also during the major decorating holidays the downtown becomes very fun and well decorated and because of that, the traffic is strong at night as well during oct-dec."

"A wonderful, mature neighborhood of Buckwood. The only negatives are the proximity to 501 and low income house just outside our community."

"Community festivals (you usually find out when you're driving though), traffic is terrible (there isn't any on-peak or off-peak times; it's always bad; except late at night; but getting worse by the day) some people are nice; not all) The community has become more rentals so you have a lot of diversity (not much southern hospitality anymore), schools are ok but people consistently ignore the active school zone alerts, speed limits are low but people ignore that as well. There is an area called River Walk, it's nice. Don't go at night. Don't forget to lock your cars, no matter what, even at home. Police are more worried about drugs than traffic laws. Prices in stores are the same as you'd get anywhere in the northern areas. The humidity here is 3 fold due to being inland and with it being in a swampy area, it gets really muggy and stinky and the city water is terrible. Don't drink it. :) To each their own."

"It isn’t the safest area to live in. Always lock your car. Check the school ratings before letting your kids go to certain schools. Some areas are really nice though so it all just depends "

"this area is near a college so there can be a lot of irresponsible young adults around, but there are lovely eating spots, walking trails, and people to be found here. the beach is the perfect distance to be able to go whenever the weather is perfect, but far enough away to be away from the hustle and bustle of the boulevard. "It's a small feel next to a state university and 10 miles from the beach. Love it here. We're located by two major arteries feedings interstate roads and shopping districts are accessible from either downtown or out by the beach. We ate by the Broadway at the Beach venue and other beach attractions like Ripley's, the Sky Wheel and racing cars. Fun for a ages and plenty of golf course for everyone. "
