the new principal wont let us wear what we use to be able to wear and is making us bsically buy new clothes and wont give us time to get them he thinks i has to be dont now not later now and is stressing people out bc of it teachers dont even like him they act like it towards him but they tell students different

My child has been at this school for two years. We have experienced a couple other elementary schools prior to this. The teachers are nice but the school just seems very money hungry. All. The. Time. I understand this school may need money, but the way it is pushed in the kids faces is too much. During book fairs, they don’t allow the kids to choose what they get, they are forced to buy what they tell them to first. Which is unfair. This is the parent’s money and we want for our kids to shop and get what they choose. The school district is very old school and still paddles for punishment in the principals office. There are not many opportunities for advanced kids or for kids that are left behind. It’s just average. We have been speaking about home schooling very recently. We haven’t had any trouble with other elementary schools in the past but the way this one is has been pushing us towards it since this is the only option for public schooling in the area we have. I would not recommend. Other schools have so much more to offer for your children.

This teachers in this school go the extra mile to challenge students and create hands on learning that works! The principal, Carroll Gunter, shows a deep concern for the kids and is involved in the educational process in the classroom. I appreciate the fact that she is a previous 1st grade teacher and knows what's going on in the classroom. This county is blessed to have Fairlane to educate children.

As a trans person, this school is living hell. I've seen countless times where a student has been denied something just for being trans. there's been two instances where I draw the line, both containing the same person. First, as some of you may be familiar with, some teachers use sticks with names written on it to call on people in class. The trans student wrote their preferred name, but yet the teacher still referred to them as their deadname. 2nd time was in Drama Club. The student auditioned for the role of 'Jack Frost' but was denied it because they're a trans male, and not a cis male. This is inexcusable. The school doesn't care. And it doesn't matter if it goes against your religion, there isn't room for religion in a classroom. Students don't need to know your personal/political/religious beliefs. It's not difficult to just respect someone. This is blatant disrespect, and should not be excused.

Our experience as parents having a child and more to come children here we would strongly encourage others to come it’s honestly great here.
